[Verizon] Phone Keeps Turning Off

I've got my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP JB3, with Franco nightlies (currently r273), and it seems to randomly turn itself off every so often. This started occurring with AOKP JB2, so I did a wipe & clean flash this morning with AOKP JB3, but just noticed my phone was off. I haven't noticed it turn off, just as it's sitting on my desk it turns off, no screen flashing or anything. I boot it back up and it's fine, apart from missing a bunch of texts & calls.

I'm a regular Linux user, but fairly unfamiliar with digging too deep with Android. What's the best way to capture some logs and figure out what's happening? I need a method that just captures logs on the phone, nothing using ADB & a computer (I need it to work 24/7 to capture random shutdowns).

I'm guessing this may be a Franco kernel problem, but it's difficult to tell. I'm hoping some logs may shed light on the matter.

*sigh*

I think this is a hardware issue, specifically, when my phone is bumped too hard, the battery shifts and the phone turns off. I'd still like some help getting logs to confirm this, but I noticed the phone off after biking home from work, which can be a bit bumpy. I tested my theory by trying to "bump" my phone with my hand a bit, and sure enough, it'd just turn off if hit just the right way. This seems to be getting worse, so I'm curious if anyone else is having this problem?

Short term solution may be to put some thin rubber strips on the battery door, and see if that helps. I'm concerned that the GNex's battery door won't actually hold on with extra pressure though, but we'll see...

This happens on my SGH-T989 also. I've noticed this seems to occur somewhat randomly, but also when it reaches a full battery charge. Here's a summary of my current issues with aokp jb3.
I'm running AOKP build JB 3 Hercules on T-Mobile SGH-T989.
Performed clean wipe for the installation.
Build 3 is huge reliability improvement over JB1 and 2. Really like it. Thank you!
Issue #1 However, phone appears to go dark and freeze up (or perhaps turn off) overnight. I plug it into Samsung OEM adapter and mini USB Happens every night. I think a full battery charge is the "trigger event" causing the phone to "lock up" and the screen goes black.
Issue #2 Bluetooth. I'm using Plantronics Voyager Pro UC. Multimedia streaming works well. System tones work. Incoming ring notification works. However, talkpath is not established. In other words, I can not use bluetooth for a conversation. I hear nothing through bluetooth.

You'll have to determine if it's the battery shifting, or something else that requires a replacement. FWIW, I have the extended battery, a soft case and have never noticed this happening, but I don't knock my phone around either. :D

Just to reiterate what Colchiro said though, make sure it's actually a hardware issue that can be duplicated readily, and not something else software, app, or ROM-related. Never had an issue with my battery shifting or anything of the like that caused a power interruption. So, for some people, it may be a solution, but I'd bet there are also a lot that can be traced back to a faulty or buggy app, or something in a ROM.
