Root [Verizon] Please help

I have a rooted Verizon sch-i545 mk2. I watched videos step by step and read all I can find. Using safestrap 3.71 I install hyperdrive rls 10 and the kernel for my phone. After install I reboot and it goes off but never comes back on. I know says takes whil first time and let it sit all night. Only way I could get it back on is by taking the battery out and switching from rom slot back to stock. I can't find on Google or any forums of someone having this problem. Any suggestions?

I forgot to mention I am on 4.3

You need to install it on the stock slot, but do a nandroid backup first.
