Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Yes preordered day 1 at 7 am. 4 days ahead of what was to be the ship date that's shocking to me. Good to see the big V do something right by their customers

That's probably why it says 'estimated' because of the default '2 Day Shipping' classification in the FEDEX system. What happens in real time could turn into '1-Day' instead. I'm feeling a 7/5 delivery instead. I just can't see it going to 7/6.

I posted in the speculation threa threat here it is again:
Pre-ordered mine on 6/6 @ 7:14am
Shipped from west Chester PA
Model: 32GB white

2 day means 2 day with Verizon shipments. We never get Verizon shipment in a day early. Trust a FedEx driver.

For everyone who is waiting for delivery and is holding onto their Unlimited Data Plan, in your excitement of getting the new phone don't forget the advice given earlier in this thread...Don't attempt to activate it yourself. Call into Customer Service and let them do it for you. This will hopefully reduce/eliminate the chance that something will get screwed up so that you lose your unlimited data. I'm not sure who relayed this advice to this thread (I think maybe Chief?) but I believe it originally came from Verizon. Seems like a simple precautionary step to take even if it might mean waiting on hold for a little while. I'm taking no chances at all. We have 2 SGS3's coming to our house and both are planning on keeping our $10/month/each unlimited data.

I think all of us that ordered on the first day are feeling the pain... lol, I do feel the same way in regards to waiting for the cc balance to go up. It's an odd feeling. haha

Seems like Verizon is giving Colorado the shaft.

I believe your phones come out of the Memphis shipping facility if I remember correctly seeing that in the Sprint release thread.

I was told the same thing, primarily since I used my last $100 NE2 credit on a different line than my unlimited data plan. In the end, it is not worth risking the unlimited data plan (or subsequent aggravation in trying to get it back) if something goes wrong by trying to activate it yourself.

I just got off the phone with FEDEX and they confirmed that all FEDEX Drivers will accept this document pinned to the door in lieu of a signature.

Although I did refuse a $60 tip last Christmas. The shipment was a DSR (Direct Signature Required) which means someone HAS to be home and HAS to sign for it. The guy left 3 $20s and a note pleading to leave it. I left it and a door hanger with my apologizes written on it. My job is worth WAY MORE than $60.

If anyone is trying to piece together shipping stuff based on info from this thread I thought I'd put all of my info together...

Order Date: 6/6 just after 7AM EDT
Ordered: 32GB Blue
Date Shipped: 7/3 via Standard Overnight from Memphis
Delivery to: Atlanta Metro

BAH! It does seem like most of the pre-orders being released are all from the east coast. I just know I was up early to pre-order this sucker knowing I wanted it. Now feel like a kid and someone stole my candy out of my hand. haha. Or like it's christmas and everyone is getting their presents from Santa and I'm sitting with coal. haha. I know I will eventually get it, just wishing Verizon would send out the phones for pre-orders for everyone who ordered the first day it was opened.

Yup... I was up at 7:00 EST (5:00 MST) to preorder.
