My order number has 7 digits (phone order 6/15/12)!
I also set my alarm for 4:55am on the morning of 6/6 which gave me about 4 hrs of sleep. Hopefully the phone will ship on Thursday at the latest since they've pre-authorized my card. Given that it won't be set up as a "Saturday delivery" which costs VZW much more, I am expecting the phone no later than Monday, which will still be earlier than I expected it.
Funny how many people were posting things like "F-ing VZW! They probably won't ship until 7/12!" I know everyone thinks they are so massive that they couldn't really care what people like us think, but my guess is that they realize that they are in the service industry. Yes, they sell phones and cell service, but I'm sure they understand that if they let down their customers, they will lose in the long run.
AT&T lost my business years ago to VZW because their customer service on so many occasions was horrible. VZW has been great to me for the past 5 years. A key example was when I had a phone crap out on me prior to being eligible for an upgrade (I was 10 days shy) and the gal at the corporate Verizon store gave me her old phone as a loaner as she'd just gotten the Galaxy S that day. I borrowed her *pink* Blackberry (boy did my friends and co-workers have fun with that!) and 10 days later got my current Galaxy S which has served me very well.
Kudos to Verizon!

I hate to say this but I believe last weeks heavy winds in the Mid-Atlantic states have caused a delay in your order. If you look closely, I believe I see your name on that package.

Would think a Class 10 at less than half the price (also from NewEgg) would be sufficient for a phone
For standard definition camcorders, an SD/SDHC card with a Class 2 speed is all you would need. It’s fast enough to handle the highest quality standard definition video you can record. For high definition camcorders, you’re safest going with a Class 6 card. While you may be tempted to spring for a Class 10 card, you'll be paying for performance you don't need in a digital camcorder.
Ha! I don't work for Verizon, but this was the store in Broomfield right across the parking lot from the Best Buy. I am also in the service industry and work for Qdoba overseeing the Western U.S. I preach great customer service to all my teams, and every time I've been in that location, they have been all smiles, and very helpful. Makes a big difference in building brand loyalty.
sweet. I got the 32g s3. And I am getting a micro sd to store my music and to store the pics and vids i take on my phone. Is 32gb big enough or should I go 64?
I'm sure you're right. But I'll *feel* like it's noticeably faster! (kind of like your car always runs better after you detail the engine.)

For me, the biggest speed benefit of the faster card is when you need to transfer to another device (e.g. PC).

I bought a 32 GB to match my 32 GB Samsung Galaxy S3 primarily for quick backup (although I will offload this to my NAS on a regular basis).
Right now, 32GB seems to be the sweet spot. The last I checked 64GB commanded a premium.
In the end, I would only carry with you what you really need and maintain an offline backup.

Little rant here:
I ordered at 6:30cst on june 6th called today to get my order number and check the status, and that returned a message of july 9th the same date the lady on the phone told me. Got on here tonight to find that some were getting theirs on the 6 th so i checked back hoping for an update. Sure enough there was to my surprise and................it now says the 11th. Apperently there was a problem with my order it says and claims i recieved an email that never showed up in any of my email folders. so what to do?
I guess call them on thursday, or does anyone have any more input.

Not only is this the B day of our great country , but mine as well. However, this is truly starting off on the wrong foot. I preordered day 1 within the first hour ( Blue 32GB & paid full retail in case your wondering ) & live in one of the cities where the S3's are being shipped out of ( Memphis ). However, I still have no tracking # or a charged credit card. Why Verizon? Why are you doing this to me? Is it because I used 12GB of data last month? Is it b/c I will never be part of your precious Share Everything Plans? Can't a young man turning 21 for the 4th time

Any ideas as to why im being held up now?
Hmmm I wonder why some folks are getting theirs on the 5th (overnight shipping) and some are getting theirs on the 6th (2nd day)? I know when I ordered on the 12th I received overnight shipping so I would have thought everyone who ordered before me, especially on the 6th, would have gotten it too. Maybe it has something to do with corp accounts/corp discounts?
Unless it comes directly from VZW, it will only be speculation.
I was told this through Verizon twitter account but keep in mind that not all sim cards are alike. In my case the gnexus and Slll are identical sim cards so it's a simple swap. But I may still call to have activated.
