Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Wait, what is this? People are having trouble activating their phones? I will get to activate mine around 9:45 tonight. I hope it works then. What is the problem so far?

No logo, but can't check anything else because of the activation issues. I'll let you know in 24 HOURS! :mad:
 
This is a just a heads up for people that want to see the blue ones. Verizon stores should have them in stock right now (but no white ones yet). They aren't available for sale yet, but the employees can play with them. And I hear that the blue one looks very nice. Of course that's just one person's opinion...
 
You guys are lucky, Verizon just told me the system dropped my order and I had to reorder my phone. But it may be back ordered where I live so now I'll have to wait until consumers get the phone and not on my prior pre-order date. I'm so frustrated right now. At first they said I'd lose all my unlimited plan but welcome to Share Everything! and I told them they better fix this before I drop them.

I saw a dummy phone at BB yesterday in the blue/purple color. Depending on how you see things, it really could be considered blue OR purple but it is GORGEOUS! My wife who is getting white, commented that she likes this color A LOT. It has a brushed look which gives it a more manly look. I don't regret the pebble blue color AT ALL.

Mine is primary and I was eligible for an upgrade in March, if I remember correctly. But for some reason the GenX didn't do much for me, so I stuck with the X. Then it got an update, starting going all wonky and laggy and then the battery bulged - so I started looking around and just kind of fell through the S3/prelaunch/unlimited data door. Felt like Alice in Wonderland.

Now I'm just wondering if my phone will ship out early.
 
Mines been stuck since Tuesday night. Order has been sent to processing. Ship by date 7/5/12. CC charged. But nothing updated since then:banghead:

Yep! Did any of you other Droid X'ers get the $100 discount for 3G>4G phone upgrade? I originally pre-ordered through Best Buy on 6/6, but cancelled and re-ordered online on 6/12 after I found out about this discount.

Great News! I keep refreshing the fedex page at work hoping that my wife isn't tied up with one of the kids and doesn't hear the door when it gets there lol.

It's like magic or voodoo or something - as soon as you post that your phone didn't ship, you get an email saying it did!

My phone still hasn't shipped....

Activation problems. Does this have to do whether or not you have a SIM card from a previous phone???

So those that have been able to activate, did you insert your SIM from another phone? If you didn't already have a SIM card, are you still able to activate?

Just guessing, but that may be the problem.

I did NOT! But wasn't that the last new-every-two discount they gave? I probably got mine when I got the X.
 
I'm considering changing my blue (purple) one in for a white one. Does anyone know what I'll have to do? Should I not open the box when I get it next week? Or will I get hit with that restocking fee anyway?

If I trade for the white and decide I don't want it, can I still return it within 14 days?

So my wife has to pick up the kids at 12:30, what are the chances fed ex comes then?! I asked her to leave a signed note to leave it, I doubt that'll work, but maybe...

NOPE but ordered through the store. My wife and I are on family plan, she got a measly $30 discount and I got nothing. Ironically enough we both still had to pay the new and stupid VZW activation of $30/phone which conveniently (for VZW) offset her discount. BLAH!

BTW, both the wife and I got DXs on release date 2 years ago.

My motivation for posting that it hadn't shipped was this:

If we are looking at information regarding phones that HAVE shipped trying to find commonality, then maybe commonality could be found regarding ones that HAVEN'T shipped.

Also, I posted that mine hadn't shipped yet, and then it shipped! So.. VooDoo

I think it is kind of funny though, this phone is for my wife, I am stuck on my Incredible 2 until the end of the year. I am just excited FOR HER!

I believe that is the case. I'm going from the og inc, with no sim. It sounds like all the new sims weren't entered into their system. Stupid move.

Take your ID to the facility and I think they will release it to you!
 
Called into Verizon because the S3 wasn't in my options to activate online. Told the rep that I'm trying to get my S3 up and running. He had no clue what it was and kept asking if I meant Iphone 4s, then asked if I had purchased through Verizon. How do they not know their own products!

Anyhow, he's going to call me back in 10 mins since I have no landline. Have to power off my DX and wait 5 mins to turn on S3.
