Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

My pre-ordered phone was delivered by FedEx this afternoon. The battery is not charged, so I am charging the phone right now. Can't wait to turn it on.

Does anyone know how long do I need to charge it? I have been charging it for an hour already.

At least 48 hours, though 72 hours is preferred

My battery was half charged so i said screw it, activating now ;)
 
ouch1976 not holding out too much faith but thanks anyway. Since mine went 3 day ground and NOT 2 day as quoted in Confrimation page, per the fedex lady there is no Sat delivery for ground shipments. Seems Verizon wants these phone there on the 9th like they said. Oh by the way it's was a 32g blue/purple pebble. Fedex truck is usually here by know so guess Monday it is.
 
I ordered my 16GB Pebble Blue on 6/25. Shipping out of Memphis to Pittsburgh. ETA is 7/9. Since it ws supposed to ship on the 10th, this is good with me. Not really expecting Saturday delivery but it should be in my neighborhood by then. This will be fun.

WOW! I ordered on the 26th and have the 11th. Screw me and being behind a day.....I went into my local AT&T store since the phone got released today and played with it for about a half an hour hoping to kill some of my anticipation. Didnt work, made me just want mine more to mess around with....

Anyone know if they send out deliveries on Saturdays? Not to houses, but Fedex pick up the package from it's origin?

LOL!! Hal is just yanking your chain. Leave it charging until it's full (uninterrupted), reboot it once, then turn it off and let it charge for another hour. Unplug and reboot once more, then you should be good to go!

My patience is running THIN, too many other people with pre order dates further out than mine are getting there accounts charged and tracking.. srsly messed up VZW.

These aren't oxygen tanks being delivered to emphysema patients. It's just a phone that will get here in a few days. How much does it really matter if someone else gets their's before you get yours? You still have your current phone activated, right? Unless Verizon screws up somebody's Unlimited Data plan or cancels their order, I don't see how this is worth getting this annoyed.

Per the Fed X website...

"Hold at FedEx Location

Not all shipments are eligible for this option.
Only the shipper, recipient or payor of the shipping transaction may make a Hold at FedEx Location request.
FedEx does not guarantee that the request can be fulfilled.
If your shipment is eligible, FedEx Express will attempt to have your shipment available for pickup by the next business day after the estimated delivery date.
Government issued photo I.D. is required for shipment pickup.
Ability to request a Hold at FedEx Location via fedex.com is available for U.S. destined shipments only.

I'm not sure how this works with your (and others) claim that Fed X won't hold without at least one delivery attempt but I gotta say it looks to me like they will hold without a delivery attempt.

I saw this too but when I tried it, I'm getting the message that my package is not eligible to be held at location (same with calling... not eligible.)

Monday by 7pm for me...home stretch finally!
 
I did read your previous post but your one positive reception post doesn't hold water to the numerous poor reception posts that are here.

It "Holds water" if you consider that people are FAR more likely to post a negative result than a positive result. It's human nature to share your complaints but sit on your compliments. It remains to be seen how my phone will do with regards to reception because I'm still waiting for it. But a positive post about decent reception goes a long ways towards boosting my confidence in this phone.

FedEx Express will attempt to have your shipment available for pickup by the next business day after the estimated delivery date.

Key words are "available for pickup by the next business day AFTER THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE."

So if your phone is due to be delivered on Monday, you can have them hold it and pick it up on TUESDAY. I will take Monday any day of the week though. Holding it keeps it out of your hands for a whole day more.
 
I checked my tracking and it said something about the wrong shipping address.

I'm so worried and don't want this to get shipped back to Verizon because i'm worried they'll cancel my pre-order and then i'll get screwed out of unlimited data somehow

BAH...charge it fully once and have at it. My battery on my DX has held up 2 years and I don't think I even did the full charge before using it the first time.

Never heard the charge fully, boot, then charge again. Sounds a little tedious and unncessary IMHO.

Hal, that is cruel, so very cruel...but still funny.

Charge for 5 days, put your hand on your head, spin around 15 times, spit on the ground, go on a 5 day drinking bing, turn the phone on, turn it off, charge for another 15 days, then use. Rinse and repeat if you forgot to spit.
 
Me either, but that's how I did my E4GT, and it has outstanding battery time. Can't hurt, and you only get one chance to do it right the first time.

Best Buy hate me :(

My guess is due to the rather poor GS3 effort from Best Buy on preorders for all versions, they might see just a liiiiiitle drop in future preorders.

Best Buy as a middle man just got lame.

Now it's been "sent for processing " !!!! OMG !!!!

Credit card charged X3 !!!! Oh man!, Now if they send them overnight with Sat. delivery, all will be well in the world !

I saw your UPDATE about the plus sign and decided to give mine yet another check and hey what do you know....then went to check my CC online and there was the Pending VWZ charge so... going to keep tabs on when you actually receive the GIII. I ordered on the 19TH and i'm based on Los Angeles, CA so...we'll see....

Also racing against the Missus who is dropping hints that she has ordered an AT&T GIII but got the call last Monday to say it has been delayed yet another week. I don't think she wants to tell me until she has it, preferably before I get mine so she can taunt me with it.

We'll see........

Nah, Samsung's just read all your posts about cell reception and they are getting out all the preorders they can before yours so nobody can cancel when they hear how disgruntled you are when you finally do get yours.

Actually when I was at Best Buy this weekend I heard all the guys talking about you...they REALLY don't like you!
 
I can't believe how whiny some of you people are. How terrible that they're being sent via 2nd day instead of overnight. How will you ever survive that one additional day? Shut up and grow up. Have some perspective - it's just a phone, I think you'll all make it.
