Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

preorder site has the + , cc has the charge pending, other preorder site says sent for processing. i did the little trick that doit2it said to do with fedex. that site says standard overnight delivery and estimated delivery for july 9th by 3pm

ordered on 6/19 over the phone.
this is looking like i will get it before i leave for a long weekend. i was sweating it wouldnt come till after i left thursday night.

sent myself a text message with the link to the fedex tracking info

now is there a min age for the person signing for the fedex package????
if so i will leave a note and have the kids watch for him. as soon as he drops it have them hurry up and get it off the front porch.

This also happened to me (also blue 16GB), and I was prepared for a fight when I called, but the rep changed it back within 30 seconds.
 
oh boy. judging by this incipio silacrylic case that came today, this phone is going to feel perfect. Looks like it will be thinner with this case than my naked droid x.
 
I have unlimited but will be switching off it shortly. The wife has her and my son on her plan, but now I want to get a phone for our daughter as well so I think switching us all to one plan is the best option going forward.

I have only gone over 3gb maybe 3 or 4 times, kids and wife won't even use maybe 1.5gb between all of them per month. When the kids get older then they probably will but oh well. I think I am going to go with 6 or 8gb plan
 
lol. i just showed the wife the fedex tracking info and me acting all excited... she was not amused at all. and said phone comes at 3 ill be out by 3:05... she's no fun...lol
 
Dam, now I need to start thinking about this. Seems we on Verizon might be getting the shaft with a locked boot loader. One of the reasons I skipped the Razr was for the locked boot loader. It might be time to migrate away from VZW, even AT&Ts version is open.

Locked is much different than encrypted that moto does. Guess time will tell
 
Two S3's have just been delivered by FedEx to my home. Can't wait till I get home from work. Screen protectors, case, charge over night then I'll be able to play with them. First I'll set mine up then the wife's phone. The long wait is over. One month from the pre order date and it's waiting for me. It's a great way to start the weekend! For those of you still waiting, your time will come. Have a great weekend everyone ;-)

True, but I am fed up with the carriers tampering with the phone I pay alot of money for. In the end they get ALOT of money off me for very little in return. Might be time to move back to AT&T, bring the wife and start buying unlocked phones. Or buy unlocked phones and use prepaid services. Be cheaper in the long run and I wouldn't be so locked down.

Not sure what I am going to do I am so sick over this.
 
I got my blue phone today, and just received a tracking number for my white one. Get this coming from California to NY and they used overnight shipping so it will be in my hands Monday.
 
Hopefully I don't get screwed out of my unlimited.

Yesterday I got an e-mail saying my phone is on hold.... I checked what's up and apparently my credit card was declined and is on hold.... It should be back up and running tomorrow. My order was not cancelled *knock on wood* and now it says it will ship on 7/11/2012 as opposed to 7/9/2012 (attempted to ship yesterday). Hopefully once the credit card is back up and running, the charge goes through and the phone ships. I'm worried now :confused:
 
I ordered the phone on June 14. The expected ship date was 7/10 and I just got an email confirmation that the phone has been shipped and should arrive on July 9!!!!!!
 
I'm thinking the GS3 is going to be my last phone with VZW. Not digging the reports that the VZW GS3 is protected from flashing unsigned/modified boot.img and recovery.img. I also don't like that they removed the wifi toggle... I pay for data and will use my wifi when I see fit. No need for a constant reminder.

I'm still looking forward to the phone and I am sure that these issues will be figured out by the dev community in time. But with VZW unfriendly stance towards the openness of android and the implementation of shared data.... I think my time with VZW will be ending the next time I am ready to upgrade the phones on my account.

Yeah, in another year or 2 Sprint will have their LTE going. I just have such good call quality with vz. haven't had a dropped call in 5 years. I can travel from Phoenix to Tucson (a lot of empty desert in between) and never loose my connection.

Sometimes I wish Verizon coverage sucked so I could hate them more.

Thanks for this, it worked. Mine also showing standard overnight with a July 9 delivery. Ordered on June 15 at a Corporate store.

Oh that's good to hear. I had been told by a CSR that if they accidentally took you off the unlimited plan, there was nothing they could do to get it back.
