I've been following this thread closely and like many others, received an email today (Sunday) with FedEx info for delivery on Tues. On Saturday, I had sent an email via a form at the verizon wireless website to complain about how it seemed that order date (I ordered on June 14) did not equal to when orders were shipped. This is the response I received:

That's awesome that you've preordered the Samsung Galaxy S III and it's going to be such a great device. I can understand your frustration and concerns about the shipment of the device. I would feel the same way. We do send preorders out in the order in which an order was placed, but sometimes different regions of the country receive shipments at different times based on inventory of specific areas of the country.
Given what I've read on this thread, I don't see a connection between inventory/regions, but for those who may have been curious, this was the response given. I don't believe my order had shipped because of the email, I believe it was coincidence.
