I wouldn't be shocked to find that was true, but I would not be shocked to get it on the 9th either. Until Verizon confirms it, the date could change or just be plain wrong.

If we have it by July 11th I'll be shocked. Mine is pre-ordered, I was told 10th, probably later.

I'm really not too sure about this. I went and did the chat as well right after reading yours and they said there is no information on it at the moment and that only T-Mobile has released it, which we all know already. I honestly expect it to be out before July 1st and I sure hope so because my current phone goes haywire everyday and I desparately need the new one. I preordered at 7:10 am June 6th so I am hoping I get mine immediately. But my best guess is it will ship next week

I talked to a different person on the chat and they said the exact same thing, but I asked what the software update verizon is doing was for. she said they are putting applications on it. Seems legit to me!

Yeah it does seem pretty legit. I couldn't see them waiting until July 9th to START shipping. I would expect them first batch to start next week by surprise. Keep checking the emails. The ship by dates have to be safe dates.

This seemed like even more of a scripted response than you get from Verizon. It seem like there was not much of substance on Reese's part. That said, Gawd it would be great to have this in my grubby little mitts next week

verizon announced that if you pre order the sg3 by the 28th of june, then you will get to keep your unlimited data plan. But if you are a new verizon customer, then you don't have that option.
 
so the sg3 update that just went through the other day...will the U.S. sg3's have that update already pre-installed? or will we have to manually update it like the international people who already own the phone?

Yea, I realize that. I just don't see the need to rush to pre-order. But then I wasn't dying for a new phone, Verizon's change prompted my "need" for a new phone. So, maybe it's just hard for me to get excited about a phone that I otherwise wouldn't be interested in...not a big fan of the design particularly the lack of on-screen keys, but this is the best thing we have to choose from.
 
I have a Rezound. I don't hate it but I don't love it either, it's just okay. Obviously my line isn't due for an upgrade. However, my son's line is. Would this be a big upgrade over my phone. Should I take his upgrade to get this phone and give him my Rezound? Or is it not much better than what I have? In that case, I would just let him go pick out something cheaper. (He has an INC)

You should jump at the opportunity that is if you have unlimited data and have an upgrade left. You mine as well. That's what I did and I don't even need a phone. I just got the galaxy Nexus a couple months ago. I'm very very confident I'll like the sg3 much much better. Probably put the gnexus up for sale.

My wife has the rezound. I would do what the previous poster said. Give him the rezound (big upgrade coming from the incredible which was my previous phone before the nexus) and pre order the sg3. Time is a ticking. Do it before the 28th. Btw the rezound is a really good phone to but it's no sg3, what is.....
 
I just got off the phone with wireless advocates "Costco" they told me they can move up the upgrade 7 days out. I can pre order the GS3, but can't keep unlimited data :( I can order a phone then swap it for a GS3 under the 90 days return and keep unlimited data .
 
Jeepers, some folks here are compulsive to a near stalker level........

You can not will the device to be earlier guys. ;)

Not to add to the compulsion, but my guess is some might see orders end of next week.... A key sign will be if demo units pop up at corporate stores by Wednesday. Just sayin'.
