Mine said the 10th when I pre-ordered on the 18th. I'm still okay with that. Interesting to see just how many preorders they are getting though, wonder how many of those are like me and did it solely to keep unlimited data?

+1 to keep unlimited. But now I really want it!

Hey, part of the fun is waiting :) Kind of like Christmas when a kid, but for older geeks ;)

Well, that is my spin, since VZW is best case second week of July and nothing suggests otherwise- so far.......

I have no problem with waiting (have been for months already). The problem is when all the kids around you are opening their presents and you don't have any yet.:)

I have to return the Razr and I have until the 10th. So I guess I can return it before then if it hasn't made it Best Buy by then.

To weed people off of their unlimited plan.

Not sure how that applies. If you do the release on the 28th in store, you accomplish the same thing by releasing anytime after since we pre-order people are already grandfathered. Making us wait does not weed us off.

Its a matter of numbers. The percentage of people pre ordering the s3 is a very small percentage of the total subscriber base. If we were a huge base they wouldn't have allowed it to happen. a few thousand pre orders ( just throwing out numbers here) is tiny compared to the millions of subscribers verizon has.

At first I agree with this. I mean, we are the minority who monitor this this closely. But then I thought about the 9 million that were preordered in europe. Not sure how I think about this now

True, but that only explains waiting til the 28th. Nothing after that.

Anyone else wonder if the delay is to give Verizon more time to develop the bloatware optimized (may be too strong of a word since I hate bloat) for the S3? With all of the other major carriers starting to ship out these devices (10-20 days) prior to Verizon, makes me think it is for some reason other than Verizon just being conservative with ship dates.

Exactly. Those ship by dates mean nothing except that is the latest it will be shipped. VZW is just being overly conservative. If they are trying to attract new customers to the new plan, they have to have this phone in store the same time as everyone else. And there has to be some advantage to pre-ordering (doesn't there?). So I am optimistically expecting my phone to arrive right on the 28th.

If I read one more post in the AT&T and Sprint threads about how their phones are on the truck out for delivery today, I am going to punch something - probably a Verizon sales person.

Don't feel too bad. AT&T users are stuck with slow LTE speeds and Sprint users have to run it on 3G LOL

From The Droid Guy article today

"As expected, the frenzy is hitting all the carrier stores. Sprint and T-Mobile were suppose to get their shipment by this morning for a release today (June 21st). But that

Am I the only person with the grandfathered unlimited data who still hasn't pre-ordered this phone? At this point, I'm pretty sure I want it. Though I really wish I could see it in person, touch it, take it to dinner and then who knows what afterwards, but I digress. Since that isn't an option with wanting to keep unlimited data, I've held off on doing the pre-order so I would hopefully receive the phone later. That way if some other awesome phone lands at Verizon near the end of July. Then I would still be within my 14-day return window, which would be especially important to me if the Samsung radio sucks. Though honestly, I don't know when the 14 day window begins. It could be the day the phone releases for all I know.

You could always take a look at the Sprint or AT&T versions and then buy the VZW version. ;)

If you don't preorder you will lose unlimited data and pretty much it is this phone or one of the existing phones for those who want to keep unlimited data.
