Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

I agree with others here that it's not coming until July 9th. I think I've seen almost every tech site's reviews and the AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile versions have all been reviewed. No one has the Verizon version which makes me think it's not even ready yet. I don't know what the holdup could be (I'd say bloatware, but every review model has that.) :confused:

And at the very least if anyone did have the Verizon version I'm 99.9% certain a "first look" or "quick glimpse" would have at least popped up for bragging rights. The fact that hasn't happened only makes me believe we're still a ways away.

Nevertheless, I'm stubbornly hopeful that I'm 100% wrong. :D
 
I think it more has to do with the qualcomm chips. I mean look how many devices have the s4 processor in it and an article was posted the other week saying that qualcomm would not meet demand until mid 2013. I mean if it is true that the next iphone is going to use this chip also it is just another huge demand being placed on qualcomm. I honestly think samsung did not expect it to sell this well( from just preorders) and are going into over drive trying to get more sent to their bigger markets hence the delays. JMHO
 
Huh ? how could samsung not think the phone wasnt gonna be hugh lol ? ofcourse they thought it would be. "The next big thing is here" ring a bell to you.? Just hope this doesnt turn into the nexus launch haha.

I agree. But Apple iPhone5 will have A5X (or A6) processor with new qualcomm 3G/4G radio supporting non-snapdragon processors from what I heard, not S4 Krait. They never used snapdragon processor in any iDevice. Anyway qualcomm fab will be under extremely high chips demands.

yeah the next big thing but have they ever launched their device in the US at the same time with same specs? No they haven't they usually staggered the launch by a few months and used different parts so it wasn't near the strain that using the same parts for every carrier in the US will put on them to produce enough.
 
I just called best buy. They told me they were told that the phone is expected to be released tomorrow for verizon, but since other carriers are getting delayed, he expects verizon to follow.

That doesn't sound right. If you call 5 different Best Buys your likely to get 4-5 different answers.

I agree. That is one reason I went with white because in every video I saw it was a different color. Plus the different color home button made me like the all white better. Guess if it looks better in person I can always exchange it.
 
just went to do my upgrade for the blue one, it tacked on $30 for doing the upgrade. posted this in the vzw forum, but has anyone been able to beat this back? and how?

I got a $30 new evry 2 discount which offset it :/ other people are reporting getting really nice discounts by calling in their order and talking to a rep, wish i'd have done that :/
 
I know this is a weird question to ask on the Verizon thread, but tomorrow is the 21st which is launch day for some carriers. Where can I go tomorrow to see an S3 in person?

Been a customer for verizon since probably 2000. Called in 4 times to customer loyalty number and they wouldn't budge on any discount. I have 3 smart phones and 2 dumb phones on my plan now. Asked if anyway to eliminate the upgrade fee at least. Was a no go. Called in my order later on and they said there was no type of discount available for me. GO FIGURE. Regardless, I don't like the direction verizon is going but what can I do? Everything is changing and the only option is to adapt.
 
I just checked my order status and it hasn't even been processed yet. So instead of scaring myself on a daily basis, think I'll just wait til the 4th of July and see where we are then.....

At least you can check to see it hasn't processed.... the check your order status pages is down for me.
 
My order status states, "Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time". If the release date was July 9th, I'd think it would state it. So its still up in the air as to when the ship date is. The 28th is also still a possibility then.
