Yes Benny, but superfluous to 99.99% of us since your fortunate deal is an exception to the norm.

You are kind of like an Alpha or Xmen, since "different" from the rest of us and we resent it.... ;)

I got the deal too.

Look at me! Look at me!

But seriously, Verizon will have to pull this unlimited data for $10 (on my wifes line but only $6 on mine because my corp discount works as well!) from my cold dead hands because I'm takin' it to the grave baby!!!! (or until they cancel my contract, change terms and conditions, or send some thugs to my residence to beat it out of me)

Oh, so don't we feel special with our fancy elitist great deal unlimited plan for a mega cheap price. ;)

I would feel the same if I found a twelve pack of Sam Adams lager for $9.99 :)

Every week!

LOL! "Fancy" and "Elitist" aren't words that people usually use to describe me but I'll take 'em when I can get 'em. :D

I hadn't really considered the $80/mo. savings in terms of beer money. The way things are these days I consider it gas money so I can get to work. I'm more of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale guy myself but I do like a nice cold Sam's when it's put in my hands.

I don't know about that 99.99% thing. I've heard of a lot of people who get some pretty nice corporate discounts. Whatever my wife gets, (17% I think) is certainly not the highest I've heard of. And besides all of that, "The Chief" gets the same $20/mo/line discount I get. That's gotta lower the figure down to at least 99.98%, doesn't it?

You should see my superhero costume. It looks sooo cool. No, I'm not Verizon Man. I'm far more powerful than him.

I am glad verizon is taking its time with the release date. Apparently T mobile took the shorter route and used the S3 chip. That is why it was released so soon.

"However, a T-Mobile spokesperson updated his statement to contradict Samsung: "Galaxy S III contains a different chipset than our competitors. Ours is the MSM8260 which does not support LTE, only HSPA."

I'd be quite upset if I found that out after the fact and they are charging more than the other carriers lol surprising to say the least.

Is it officially confirmed that Tmo GSIII has S3 snapdragon? I think it has MSM8260A (S4 Krait with GSM/HSPA+ but without CDMA/LTE radio). S4 chip has many variants and some of them are named confusing as it looks like old version numbers.

I would be ticked if i was on tmobile

Yea, about that Verizon release date..... There's no way they would have a release date prior to our ship dates, would they (unless of course, they were going to ship the phones early). Isn't the point of pre-ordering to get the phone before it hits the stores? Is that what usually happens? I'm just thinking that if I get the phone the same time the stores do, I am still going to have to go into one (because I have no idea how to transfer stuff, blah, blah). I don't want to have to wait around for sales people who are trying to sell these things. Petty? Maybe, but come on. I've waited months. Don't make me wait while Ma and Pa Kettle try to figure out if this new contraption is too complicated for them.

As discussed in the T-Mo thread, it looks like this information is incorrect. Please refer to that discussion in that thread. Thanks :)

Fair estimate :)

Yikes! They are coming out into the open!

;) ...... I wish I has that too :(

Don't plan on seeing Jellybean on this phone for a very long time, if ever. Have you not followed Samsung's history of updating phones?

They were horrible with the S updates. They were better with the S II updates. At this rate of improvement we'll have JB on the S III before the end of the year. Right?

Right?

Oh wait, it's Verizon. Carry on then.

All this talk of updates is why I wanted a phone with an unlocked bootloader. I am sick of relying on the carriers/manufacturer. I want to be able to put what I want on it.

Samsung confirmed 4.1 jelly bean for Q4 2012. Just saw it on the Samsung Galaxy S3 facebook page. Not a bad wait at all. I only have gingerbread now so it will be nice for me to try ics for half a year and then get jelly bean. I have no problem with that.

That's good to hear. JB for Q4 is not bad at all for manufacturer UI phones. JB seems like decent update with good speed gain to already snappy ICS, similar to what Froyo was to 2.1.

But then verizon will take their time to play with it as usual.:(

I wonder how accurate this is. I wouldn't be concerned except for the fact it's from today.

US Carriers Struggle to Meet Samsung Galaxy S3 Launch Date Due to Shipping Problems - Yahoo! News

"the website is the number one resource for thousands of Android fans."

Really? If it wasn't for Phandroid, I never would have heard of it.

I tend to never give much credibility to regurgitated news stories. It annoys me to no end seeing all these news stories claiming that the "Verizon Galaxy S3 is delayed again". You would think by now with all of Apples launches that sold in 1st come 1st serve batches they would figure it out.

Just a heads up about that article. If you look at the author, it's "PRWeb".

Whoever owns that awful igalaxys3 website wrote the article themselves and paid and submitted it to PRWeb.

From the PRWeb website:
How does PRWeb work? It

bah...

who needs Samsung to get JB on the SGS3? We don't. You can already get it on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the last 24 hours - just need to be rooted and flash it and I bet root for the VZW SGS3 will come as quick as root did for the other 3 carriers; in mere days post release.

The same will happen here for the SGS3. Samsung has no say in the deal. I bet you can do JB on SGS3 before end of the summer if not earlier.

That's if you wait for official release from Samsung. The dev community will release it for the SGS3 way before then I bet.

Yikes, thats end of the year. As usual, they will wait till the very end of the estimated time which is Dec. JB will be 5 months old by then and KLP will be ready to go. This has me seriously considering an unlocked Nexus on AT&T to get JB in a few weeks.

psh. . stone IPA or perhaps a nice fresh dogfish head 60 min please. . . I don't get a sweet deal on my data but I do get a deal and to make up for it I get a really nice discount (as in cheaper than cost) on about half the craft beer available in Ohio. So, with the amount of beer I drink, winning (charlie sheen voice).

Sorry if this has been asked already or discussed, but I've been enjoying the off-topic speculation as to when it will be released.

For my question:

I am on a family plan with my mom and dad. My mom can upgrade her phone in November. When she upgrades, will her being forced to upgrade to a tier plan then get rid of my unlimited I have with the S3?
