[Verizon] Problems with CWM Recovery

So I'm having a weird problem with CWM, which I flashed via Rom Manager. Anyway, my phone won't boot into it, instead I get the screen where the Android mascot is lying down with the red triangle (is there a name for that screen?). But then I go back to Rom Manager and reflash CWM and reboot to recovery via the app, the phone will boot into CWM. But after that one time, future attempts to reboot to recovery gives me the red triangle screen.

Has that happened to anyone and is there way to fix it? Thanks in advance!

The screen you are describing is the stock recovery. When you flash cwm, it will be there until the phone completely reboots because of a file called recovery-from-boot.p in the /system folder. By either renaming or removing that file, this will no longer happen and cwm will "stick". Just remember that you need the stock recovery installed in order to take an ota.
