[Verizon] Question on Backing up system & apps

I'm tempted to install a rom but my biggest fear is losing all my system & app info. I made a nandroid back up using clockwork recovery & have backed up my apps using titanium back up but my question is if the nexus prime only has internal memory, wouldn't a new rom, which wipes my system clean, delete all the back ups I just made??? If the new rom deletes my back ups, what do I do to prevent this?

If it works in the same way as my transformer (I'm speculating here), the area that is wiped during the ROM install is totally seperate to the SD Card memory. So your backups etc should be safe.

On the transformer, there's a clear distinction between what's classed as the SD Card and what's classed as internal memory. I'll presume it's the same on the Nexus.

Mr President is correct the sdcard on the GN is "virtual" as CWM views it as your sdcard. So do apps like root explorer. So nothing is touched. Think of it as 2 separate drives and one is considered to be the sdcard. Having said that I still make frequent backups of everything on my SDcard as you never know :)

Another thing I do is once you get all your nandroid backups made and all of your apps backed up using Titanium, then hook up your Nexus to your pc and then just copy all of those backups to your computer. Then IF something does get deleted you have ALL of your stuff on your computer and then you just need to copy it back over to your Nexus and nothing is ever lost.

One thing to mention, unlocking the bootloader WILL wipe everything.

Sounds like you're past that, but I thought I'd mention it for others that might be reading...

To add to that, if you've the Premium version of TB, you can sync your backups to your Dropbox account.

Thanks for all the replies. I was successfully able to back up my phone and apps, install a custom rom and revert back to my original phone settings with my back ups without worrying about losing my back ups. Now to experiment!!
