[Verizon] Quick question

If I remember correctly, unlocking is what wipes your device, not rooting. So if you are already unlocked, rooting won't wipe it.

Go here http://androidforums.com/verizon-ga...49-how-root-vzw-lte-samsung-galaxy-nexus.html

Scroll down past the Unlocking The Bootloader section and you should find these three options for rooting:

Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit
ClockworkMod Method
Superboot Method

Any of those three should work. Again, all of this depends on if you are unlocked or not already aas to whether or not you'll lose your data.

It won't wipe data. Unlocking is what wipes it.

Unsure? Install a custom recovery and ,make a nandroid

thanks but i have to be sure. anyone do this recently and can talk from personal experience?

There are no guarantees when doing anything at the level of rooting/unlocking. Always a chance, especially if you don't do things correctly, that you'll lose data. Always back everything up first.

That being said, rooting alone should not erase your personal data on your phone.
