[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

Well I dirty flashed from MR1 by mistake, I forgot to "wipe data / factory reset".

An adamant clean full wiper I messed up.
I did wipe Cache partition, Dalvik, and Format System, and forgot to factory reset and accidentally skipped the rest..

When it booted I thought I chose the MR1 by mistake but I checked and I'm MR2.

Its all working great though. I guess I'll be an experiment for a few days or until I see an issue. To me a dirty flash is like always playing Russian roulette.

If there anything in particular I can try while I'm dirty let me know.

Gapi, do you mean Milestone 1 and Milestone 2? The reason I ask is because 4.2.x is considered MR1 and 4.3.x is considered MR2.

So, I have been running a 4.1.2 rom forever but this looks to be a pretty stable 4.2.2 rom, haven't read too many complaints in this thread.

But I love my inverted apps/gapps. Has anyone tried this with cajunflavoredbob's Midnight Gapps Project aroma?

I am wanting to try the milestone 2 and was just curious . .

TIA

WHAT 51,109 VIEWS AND NO ANSWER TO MY QUESTION??

Just kidding folks. Ok, I have watched the video and AOKP Milestone 2 looks totally like way cool for school. Tons of options. And I see there's an option for making system apps dark.

But I still want to know if there's any recommended inverted gapps package for this rom.

Again, TIA.

Reporting back in that this dirty flash is a keeper. I got lucky I guess. Battery life is better than the Milestone 1. Bluetooth works, signal strength is good.

I'm good till M3.

Hey guys what's up?

Well, believe it or not, I'm getting ready to sell my GNex. I REALLY want the new Droid Maxx and I have to fund it somehow, so this will get me a little closer.

Today I went to Verizon and had them put my Incredible back on my account. I was going to format the internal memory and then do a factory reset, but I don't see an option for formatting the internal memory. Any idea how you do that?

I just started going through with ES File Explorer deleting folders, but there has to be an easier way than that.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Has anyone else dirty flashed M1 to M2 with success?
Reason I ask is I may do it for the wife since there's no way she'd put up with a Factory Reset.
Honestly, I don't think she cares but if I do it with her not knowing..... ;)

Which recovery do you use? TWRP or CWM?

It's worth a shot bread. Not sure. Make a backup for sure if you do. :D

Also, you can use the free version of TiBu and backup things, including call log and texts.

Which recovery do you use? TWRP Oir CWM?

CWM. I never even thought of that... I didn't look there.

DOH! That did the trick! Thanks Jmar!

So I've done the factory reset through the Settings menu in AOKP. I've formatted the SD card via CWM. That's it right? Should be a clean slate.

That should make it a clean slote, but still rooted and running AOKP. A true clean slate would be to flash a stock image file from Google; unrooting the phone and returning it to absolute stock.

Yep, that's what I wanted. I'm hoping that selling it as "unlocked, rooted and running 4.2.2" will be a selling point. I hope? LOL. My auction is up tonight at 7:00 so we'll see.

Edit: Well it sold! $96. I kind of wish it would have been a little more, but hey, it's $96 I didn't have an hour ago. Guy already paid, and she's packed up and ready to go.

Well that did it! She's gone. I'm an ex-Nexican. See you all in the Droid Maxx forums!

I should leave an obligitory "hello" in the Incredible forums just for old time's sake :D

Oh I plan on it!! I cannot wait. I even requested off work so I can be there when the store opens and then play with it all day :D

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but it's pretty frustrating.

I'm running Milestone 2, and roughly 4 out of 5 times I boot my phone, the navigation buttons and notification bar won't load. I'll wait up to 15 minutes with no luck. This happens when I reboot from the power menu, remove the battery and restart, and turn off the phone completely. Obviously this is very frustrating. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

Edit: I tried re-flashing the ROM (including doing a factory reset, and wiping both caches), and after a little use the problem came back.

I was getting that on AOKP 4.2.2 as well. Haven't seen it now that I am running stock 4.3.

Yeah I'm going to have to bail, it's just too frustrating. Time to read up on different roms.

Just for the record, I'm not having this problem. Did a clean flash including wiping /system in recovery. Also used the alternative gapps package I mentioned earlier in this thread.

my peso's worth. . . . .
