[Verizon] [ROM] Codename Android 1.5.0 - Updated 3/5/12

Dang wish I had that kind of battery. Though I just flashed this rom today, stock kernel etc.

On 4G only, about 1 hour 20 minutes of on screen time. Phone has been on for about 4 hours 30 minutes and Im sitting at 63%.

Sounds more like mine :)

I've noticed I get better battery for the first 3 days or so after I flash a kernel then it starts dropping quickly which is the complete opposite from what I am used to on other devices

gotta factor in that i was sleeping for 25-33% of the time included in those screen shots. 7-9 hours of complete inactivity will help skew the results a little bit. ;)

I will agree...when the Nexus is sleeping it gets excellent battery life...mine does too :D It's the using it part that eats up my battery.

Still, some nice stats you posted.

for those on CNA 1.2, have you noticed that when you install an app from the market, after it downloads and starts installing a little flashing 'down arrow' appears in the status bar, and also a notification in the drawer saying the app is being installed (this is expected), however, it never goes away, even after the install is finished. you have to clear it yourself in the drawer or it just keeps flashing.

Just installed 1.2.0 w/ Franco's kernel last night. Off charger today, 5 hours with 66% remaining, light to moderate usage.

********** that's awesome.

I'm about to try this rom/kernel, but I wished we could see much better battery life than we are seeing now on the kernels. A 35% drop over 5 hours mean you are at 30% after 10 hours...not good. Especially, for those of us that have our phones off charger for around 15-16 hours. Right now, it looks like there is no way to make it through a full day with the Nexus without having to hit the charger at some point.

I can get this kind of battery life already running Lean Kernel on any rom. So, this is not any kind of improvement. But glad it is an improvement for you.

My goal is being able to use my phone and get through the whole day without having to look for a charger to plug it in :) May not ever happen with the Nexus.

LK 1.7.3 results, same set-up as the ones posted above:

the CNA kernel still looks to lose less battery while the phone is completely inactive, but LK seems to handle up-time a little better. should i move to LK 1.7.4 now? :p

I'm at 2.5 at 86% with probably 50 texts, 5 emails, and ~30 minutes of Pandora. Try the new Trinity kernel, this is easily the best standby I've ever gotten, it looks like a table top.

BTW, if you're really looking for the best, go find faux123's reset kernel and flash it first before you flash a new kernel, it will make sure than none of the old kernel's boot changes carryover, it's what I've been doing lately and I've noticed a HUGE difference in performance and battery life.

Wow @SolidOrange. I may have to try Lean. I've been on Franco's with this ROM. Getting decent battery but nothing like that. Are you on 4G or wifi?

@zerocool79346 - Can you link me up with his reset kernel? Thanks!

Oh just to let you know SolidOrange, today on Franco's 14.4 kernel. Im running at about 6 hours, one hour of screen time (mostly on 4G, maybe an hour of wifi) and Im at 67%.

So yeah, nothing even close to what your getting. :o

I'm sure he could, but I know your addiction so here :p

Meant to ask you.

When you flash the reset kernel, do you have to wait a bit to flash the actual kernel you want to run? Or can you flash, boot up, go back into cwr and then flash lean or whatever it is you want to run?

Thanks man. :)

I've seen it does both ways. Immediate consecutive flashes in cwm w/o a reboot and this way: Personally I'd flash the reset kernel then boot up to your homescreen. Once there, reboot into recovery, wipe dalvik, and flash your new kernel. =)

4G only on all of my tests. i just switched over to Trinity to give it a shot. as usual, results will be posted in a few days. ;)

Thanks man that is good to know.

Will look forward to your results on Trinity. I just flashed the stable lean 1.80. Was gonna do exp2, but felt I should run a stable kernel for a few days to see how things go.

Cheers

After further use of Trinity, I'm less impressed with its battery life, I'm going to run it for one more day and see what happens, but it didn't wow me for the last 10 hours like it did for the first 3.5.

I would suggest trying a kernel for at least 2 or 3 days before making your final judgement on it
