Root [Verizon] Rooting Procedure...Verizon S3

Wait, is the AOKP ROM similar or the same to CM? That explains it then. Activation can't be done on AOKP ROMs, and I'm on CM. I read it on XDA.

ah, that explains it...you are correct...din not know you flashed a rom :)

Not anymore. I just restored from a backup with root access with a stock rom. Thats for right now with a stock rom. Could you please make better recommendations if you have any?

Yes, the sound option force closed but that was due to the theme I was running for it....not CleanRom...
But the theme was updated with a fix for it...so all is good now:D

That good. I'll put the rom on later. Im in another part of the house so I am taking a break from the computer, but it was downloading and takes about 20mins so I will get to you later.

Anyway, could I ask you a question please? With this cleanrom and the themes, I am the person who is into the colorful Skull and Roses. Would there be any such free themes? Or am I asking the wrong person? Honestly, and yes, I am into the band of Jerry Garcia, and the Grateful Dead. Please let me know if you are the wrong person for the skull and roses themes so I won't ask you again.

Im sorry and no new thread, I could use the search, or my friend Google. I am sorry again, and I will NOT be asking again.

lol..no need to be sorry buddy :) It's perfectly o.k. to ask and/or start a thread.

Do you still use LeanKernel? Or what Kernel are you using these days? Whatever Kernel it is, then could you post a link like what you did for the rom?

I also don't know what to do about my SD card. I have an idea if and only you would agree?

Perhaps my SD card is inserted incorrectly? The SD card is Verizon that came with my phone, and its red and white. So, are you willing to snap pictures on how you insert it and how it looks like after its inserted by doing on your phone? That is the best I could come up with at the moment. It could very well be its not inserted right. Please let me know.

Yes I use the LeanKernel. And here is a link to it:

Here is a video about the sd card insertion:

Its inserted correctly.

Did you look at my PC for the reader? We are looking at a bad SD card that came with my phone, or a bad phone from the start, so its hard to tell if i can't get my card to work with my reader. BTW, I don't need a reader on my PC because my reader goes into my USB port which is good, and my reader requires an adapter to use, that black part in my screenshot, and I cannot get my card into my black part which is the adapter. If I could then all I would need to do is plug it into my USB on my PC. Do you follow?

Are you sure you are using the micro sd card and not the sim card?
My micro sd card is all black. My device did not come with an sd card so mine is aftermarket black colored.

You are right. Out of all of this and its a sim card. If you have the phone with power facing up the sim slot is to the left and phone did not come with sd card. I apologize. Its my fault.

No worries :)
And it's not necessary to have a sim card unless you need more storage space for other files/pictures/etc.
:)

Does the SD card inserts in the same spot as the sim, but of course take out the sim card and insert the SD in the same spot? I have 2 32GB SD cards. I am not going to take the one out of my mp3 player.

No, there are 2 slots...one for the sim, one for the sd card.
In the video I provided, it shows you. At 1:15, he inserts the sim card.
At 1:25 he inserts the sd card. :)
Basically, download the kernel. Transfer it to your sd card (internal or external.) Make a nandroid backup. Wipe the cache and dalvik cache, then flash the kernel...then reboot....after rebooting, I usually wait about 3 minutes before I wake up the phone :)

And what link am I clicking on to download and where is the download link at? I can't help this but that site if very difficult and hard to read for beginners, so I don't know which, what, or when am I suppose to download? I see this and that? I am sorry.
