Root Verizon RUU return to stock issues

I am having problems using the Verizon RUU i need to return my phone because of the damn trackball issue. I have tried using it on several different computers several different downloads. Anyone have suggestions?

I upgrade and am going to send my eris to verizon for $132 per https://www.trade-in.vzw.com/ . Not bad considering my new phone was $150 and 2x faster than stock and 2x the ram.

Lets see how it goes.

I recommend that you root it. I was running Xtrsense Rom. Worked pretty good. Its pretty simple to root now, http://androidforums.com/eris-all-t...is-app-apk-no-pcs-no-scripts-needed-easy.html , and worked great for me.

I was running white window I really liked it but that damn trackball issue. I just got back from verizon with my 3rd Eris. At least this one isnt having the trackball issue right out of the gate. I don't like sence so much so i think i am going to try Kaos Froyo this time around.

I just rooted mine yesterday (xtrSENSE) and am very pleased so far. A few thing work a little differently, but nothing significant. Now I need to find out how to run LIVE Wallpapers. I've heard both good and bad, but I want to at least try.

Be sure that you back up before & after. Also, it's a good idea to make note of the downloaded APPS that you really want to keep. I had to clean/wipe mine and reflash to get a clean install, but it was nothing more that a learning experience.
