[Verizon] Searched this forum, no luck. A few questions.

I recently unlocked and rooted my nexus. I am very interested in flashing ICSourcey 2.0.

1. I was curious, if I were to flash a custom rom what's the behavior when verizon pushes an OTA?

2. I am always super careful when it comes to doing this stuff and read the instructions/reviews/FAQs nine times before performing anything but is it possible to irreversible mess anything up?

EDIT: Haven't used this forum in a while, look at the device I have listed.

1. A. You won't see the OTA. B. You won't need the OTA cause it would probably be leaked before it was pushed ota. If not it would only be a few hours afterwards.

2. Anything is possible, but if you read and follow directions as you say you do. It's very hard to completely brick the Nexus.

^^What he said. I like to flash my way forward instead of accepting ota's. The gnex is probably one of the least brickable devices you can get. They keys are always verify what you are flashing is for the vzw gnex and verify md5's. Do that and you're in.

It is hard to completely brick this phone but even I thought I had bricked my phone before I came to these forums, and lo behold I found a way to unbrick it. Plus if you decide rooting is not for you or you want to return the device, its super easy to unroot and OEM relock it

If your phone will turn on at all, it's fixable, basically. And there's a ton of support here, as viper said.

Appreciate the help.

Instead of getting paranoid I just dove right in. I was able to do it all from my handset which was pretty cool. I thought I needed my laptop, nope.

ICSourcery is kind of overwhelming. The first thing I noticed was faster response from the Task softkey.
