Verizon - Sideload Google Wallet w/o root?

Title pretty much explains it. I came from a GNex and sideloaded Google Wallet and made it work that way. But IIRC, it only worked because it was a Nexus device. If I sideload Google Wallet on my Verizon G3, will I be able to activate it? Not rooted and haven't intended to. Kinda scared to honestly.

I don't think root is required to have google wallet work. You can just download it from the PlayStore and set it up yes? At least that is what I did. Yes I am rooted but doing it that way was non-root related. ;)

Huh. I didn't know that actually. I got it. I thought it had been blocked by Verizon but I guess not. Ok, nevermind then. Mods, feel free to lock/close. Thanks.

With 4.4 Google got around the carrier blocks and no trickery is needed to use Google wallet. Instead of using the secure element in the phone, it just saves and secures your info in the cloud.

Of course, now it's starting to be blocked at the POS. Seems like mobile payments is going to be going through a battle for a while and everyone will probably lose in the short run.

Great info. Thanks for the clarification.
