[Verizon] [Solved] Notification Sound Issue In JBSourcery

RichSz

Not Entitled
I just installed the latest yesterday and am still learning it's ins and outs. One thing I can't figure is why I get and alarm sound then I get a notification. It keeps going until I pull down the notification bar. I thought I covered all settings but I've clearly missed something.

Any idea what I missed?

I think I figured out what was going on. Please disregard this thread for now. I'll post back when I'm certain I've resolved the problem.

Nope didn't fix it fully.

I thought the LightFlow was interfering with the ROM but after uninstalling it and rebooting, that wasn't the entire case.

While it stopped happening with Gmail, when ever I get a text via GTalk, the damn alarm goes off, not just the notification sound. It won't stop until I pull down the Notification area when it cuts off immediately. I can't find any obvious settings which dictate this behavior.

Any ideas? It's driving me nuts.

No. I thought my issue might be off topic for that thread. I probably ought to post there so the developer has a better chance of seeing it.

Well the PR man for the JBS ROM has already posted in this thread so it's a toss-up whether to continue with your problem in this thread or the ROM thread. And since you haven't posted in the ROM thread . . . . use your own discretion.

Personally, I don't let Lightflow handle any notification sound, just the LED. Not sure why your alarm sound would supersede your notification sound though. If you have any sound settings in Lightflow, disable them and try that. Then we can at least try to isolate the issue.

good luck

Sorry I disappeared for a few days. Didn't abandon this thread, I was sick. Doing better now.

I figured out what happened but not why. In a nutshell, Google Voice (not GTalk like I said earlier) grabbed an alarm sound to use as a notification. I'm not sure why it chose an alarm instead of a notification but it did. The weird part is I'm almost positive I changed that sound prior to my problem.

That's it, lame cause. I stink.
