Root [Verizon] Starting Root - Some questions and maybe more soon

I do have all those things pictured. I have a few extra things that you don't have but I am thinking that won't be a problem right?

That's fine, and the SuperSu_bootloader.FIXED should be on your sd card.
I know you see it in my folder up there, but thats fine...its also on my sd card.
Any extra files in there is fine.
What other files do you have in there?

something new now. I unplugged the device from the computer to make sure that I could see the item on the SD card from the phone itself, but it is not showing anything. At the same time, the available space on my system storage has also not budged when I delete items, even after a reboot. Should I trust the SuperSU got on the card successfully or is there another way to check it?

Are you looking at your internal or external sd card?
And I assume you are using some sort of file browser on your phone to see the card contents?

Looks fine to me.:)

well on the computer, I plugged it back in to check, and it still shows up on the computer, only showing it as "Card", neither internal nor external in particular. On the phone, I'm looking at Settings > Storage and under 'SD Card' it shows total space as 7.45GB which sounds about right as it was an 8GB card. the only reason I know it's not showing up is because the available space on phone's display of the info shows exact space as total, and on computer the space reduced to 7.44GB with the file in it.

When you double click on the "card" listed on your computer, it should show the SuperSU zip file there right? That "card" is your external card.
If you see it there, I would safely assume its on your card.

Do you have some sort of file browser app on your phone to view the sd card contents? I am not sure if there was one on the stock rom, as I rooted soon after I got my phone.

Oh, I found it, and it is indeed on the card :)..so it looks like I'm good to go now to follow along with the video. I'm gonna go off the video if i can since that's of course a little easier than the text :P...I'll let ya know how it goes.

I made it to ODIN mode, volume up, and I plugged it into the computer and opened ODIN on computer, now I am waiting for it to download I believe so that it will recognize on computer, correct?

It shows on screen "Downloading...Do not turn off target !!" Other than that doesn't seem to be doing anything yet, and it doesn't seem to be recognized by ODIN on the computer

It still has the same downloading message on screen but am I safe to continue? the video doesn't show the phone screen alongside so I am unable to tell if I am still waiting for something even though it shows up on COM on computer

On the phone screen? That won't change at all

after I flashed the first bootchain, i had a bit of trouble starting back up in ODIN mode the second time but after a couple tries I got it and I think there were no problems. I did the CWM flash next like it said. now it is time for recovery mode with battery pull but he skips when he disconnects from computer. is there any certain order to disconnect from odin/pull USB or whatever in order to get it off so i can battery pull for recovery mode?

Just remember this"
Bullet point 2
Step 4 - Rooting Your Device and Unlocking Your Bootloader

Using your custom recovery flash the download you chose above from Step 1 (#3)
Upon exiting your custom recovery to reboot first time, you will be asked if you want to "Disable recovery flash", you MUST select Yes
After reboot, your ROM will now be fully rooted, have a custom recovery, and/or your bootloader unlocked as well

I dont know if the video has that part about "disabling recovery flash"

Uh oh...i entered system recovery mode like it said but what I got doesn't look like the one he has on video. I'm not sure how to get across what i'm looking at , or how to fix it lol

I've heard of this somewhere.
Try to install the recovery again, as listed in step 3.
After Odin says its done, let the phone sit, plugged in, for 10 minutes.
Then unplug, pull the battery and boot into recovery.
It will not hurt to install the recovery again. I have done it a couple times:)

I did try to reboot from the regular recovery and try again , making sure to do the right button combos like releasing power button at correct time, which I didn't do the time before. Nothing different though, so I will do the recovery install again like you said, hopefully that does it.

re-installed the recovery, gonna let it sit now. Might run up to McDonalds and get a nice $1 large drink while I wait :D

I can't remember if it was like this a minute ago but now in ODIN it says 'PASS!' instead of 'RESET' like it does in the video, and like it did for mine the first time. Strange?
