Verizon states there was no update for Incredible

Looks like VZW succeeded in co-opting another unsuspecting person to do their dirty PR work.

Don't drink the kool-aid, folks.

um, yah... how exactly was that trolling?... campus was only passing along some info, perhaps some pretty decent info at that. info that many may have already heard, but what about those who haven't heard it yet? seems like it has certainly caused a reaction... in a rather hypocritical sort of way...

Kevin Pilayer, Executive Relations Coordinator confirms Verizon Policy. My unit has not been working write for 2 months. one time I spent an our waiting for them to download new software they said would fix the problem.
Last thursday went in as the finally admitted unit must replaced. Employee checking people in said I had to stand in line even if dropping of unit for new one and transfer of data.

Kevin Pilayar today admitted Verizon Policy, all persons must stand in line so noone else standing in line gets perception other are getting better or special treatment....Does not matter how many times they waste your time making you come back for repair on a defective unit they sold and rerepair for repairs they misdaignosed.

Obama today announced he was appointing Kevin Pilayer to head Obamacare since this thinking is what it will take to make obamacare work.

I'm already running the leak OTA but I'm a little suspicious.

I just flashed a 2.1 rom that I had done a backup before and it load with no issues at all and it kept the same radio but the android OS was 2.1, everything went back to 2.1.

I'm a noob so my question is simple can you just go back to 2.1 with a rom, I mean a backup rom, weird stuff.

I just got my second Incredible on Wed. Immediately after activating, I did the leaked OTA and Froyo, but right before doing that I saw that it had the 3G Mobile HotSpot app. I checked the version number, and it said "2.1-1". I didn't know if an update had come down, since my other Inc is also rooted and 2.2. So is this version (and the presence of the hotspot app in 2.1) not yet been pushed to the world?

Sounds like you got a refurb. They couldn't RUU it (they don't know how), so they left it with the leaked OTA on it.

Unfortunately, I upgraded the radio with the leaked OTA right away, so no idea what it was. Folks receiving their VZW orders now will probably see the same thing, 2.1-1 and 3g Mobile HotSpot.
 
I doubt it.

Sure they will see 2.1 update-1 but that has nothing to do with any OTA or leak.

I can't think of any good reason why Verizon would let that buggy 2.0 radio get out.
