Verizon Store Droids have Android 2.1?

I'm due for my upgrade on Tuesday... Does anyone know if the new Droids from Verizon online store come with Android 2.1? If not, should I wait to upgrade until they do?

(Thought I read somewhere that if they have a yellow sticker on the box they have Android 2.1 or something like that???)

The only device with 2.1 is the Nexus one. You dont have to wait to get one, it will upgrade when 2.1 is released.
 
They usually come with 2.0 if they are still in the box, some might have 2.0.1. You will get a update quicker if you have one then waiting for one at VZW to have it, seeing as they don't power on any of them until you buy it.

So do the updates just happen in the background or do you have to go and download/install yourself?

I believe they download in the background and then prompt you to install when they're finished.
 
thats what happened to me. came with 2.0 and first thing i did was upgrade when prompted............. rest is happy history!

When did you notice this? Was it like a week or so after the 2.0.1 update r maybe more? Probably was a new shipment, no way they updated before you activated them if they are from launch.

Actually its only been within the past week or so that I've noticed it. The Droids must be coming with the updated software, but we manually update the Erises (Eri?) on the shelf if there's time.
 
I got mine last Sunday and it came with 2.0.1 I believe. I never remember being prompted for an update and the firmware now is 2.0.1
 
They are like their own race of devices with even more outdated software than the Droid lol. Google get on that SHIZZLE!
