Verizon Stores Lying!

So a couple days ago a store called me and said the shipment of droid x's are in and one of them is for you as long as you're here by noon, see you at 8am on the 15th. I said ok great.

Something told me to stop in today, so I did and while I waited for my sales lady the manager came over to help me and I said I was waiting for her. And she asked what did I need. So I told her I just wanted to make sure if I show up at 8am I'll get a droid x as the sales lady assured me.

Her response - no, sorry they are not even in yet. But we're expecting them sometime tomorrow however they are all already spoken for. So the best bet would be to have her "run my application now" and if they "get extras" they'll call me or have one drop shipped to me. OMFG. Liars!!

I walked out and the sales lady called me and explained that no one was tallying up how many "promises" each employee was making so they started calling people and doing apps over the phone which does guarantee one (if they even get their shipment lol). She says, I still might be able to get one tomorrow.

Anyway, I called another store I stopped last week at and he "guaranteed" me they have their shipment in and one of them is definitely mine as long as I get there by 8am. He said he'd let me in early at 7:30 if I am there and gave me his cell number to call when I arrive. That looks semi promising.

Then right after that, the best buy I pre-ordered with called me and said I have one too:D and that I can have the 10am appointment.

So it looks like I will get a phone tomorrow, just pisses me off how these sales people lie! I guess now I need to figure out if I should go to the vzx store that will let me in at 7:30 (and if that fails go to best buy) or just wait and go to best buy. Guess I need to figure out if I'm gonna do a 1 year or 2 year first!!

Yep it's BS! I just called two stores and long story short they told me for weeks no list, no preoders, 1st come 1st serve. Well today I find out they DO HAVE A LIST of new customers and they can pick up thier DX Thursday. So they have in fact been selling them and now they look like they will have Very limited number or none at all tomorrow because they are all being held for new customers. Total BS!
 
The stores in my area have all said no kinds of pre-orders or appointments either, plain old first come first serve. I like it better this way, there is no ambiguity. Get there early enough and you get a phone. Hopefully that will truly be the case tomorrow and hopefully I will choose to arrive early enough.

That's only if they weren't lying to and it now appears many have been.
 
So we called our verizon corp store AND a verizon "premium retailer" at 5:30 this afternoon and was told - by each - that they never received their shipments. WTH, seriously?!
 
That's why I love being the Corporate Account Manager at my job... I always get great treatment from my Account Rep.

I won't be going to any stores to get my Droid X... ordering mine through my business account online and I get free overnight shipping. I can definately wait until Friday morning for mine as I already have a Demo Droid X (Since July 6th) that my Account Rep had sent to me.:D

I would have been more than happy to return my Dinc and wait for the 15th and order online but the CSR suggested this route so I wouldn't have to go back to using my old phone. Now it looks like a nightmare in the making as I will not have enough time to return it now if they don't have any X's. My 30 day is up on the 17th.
 
I'm 99% sure that people can't tell the difference between a Verizon corporate store and one of those authorized Verizon retailers with a Verizon logo on the front.

The corporate stores can't take preorders but I guess the other stores are free to screw up however they want.

If they are out when I get there I'd hate to be the manager because I am going to give him a ear full about their no preorder ordering! :mad:
 
well I am 100% positive I can tell online what one is, and I can 100% assure you that every corp store has told me that all of theirs have be allocated to proir made appointments. I have been calling them all trying to find one that would sale full retail price no contract and started asking what if I went ahead and upgraded my wifes line...just to see what they said...see above... I even asked what about the no pre-order releases I had been seeing but everyone having appointments.

I said to the one that just hung up on me at a corprate store

" so you are saying you have 40 devices ready to go tomorrow and that you have more appointments made then phones in. You also are telling me that you are only giving them to new and upgrades. She says yes sir that is correct. I then say, well what if I get to your store at 5 am and I am the first in line even though I dont have an appointment. Will I get one? she says you may get lucky. I ask but if I am the first in line how would I not get one. She says well the only way you would is if someone misses their appointment. She even went as far to say that is how this is different then a pre-sale. Pre-sale equal already paid and held appointment equal name on list for certian time gets device that is held. I said well that ma'am is bullshit"...she hung up on me :)

The store I how have an appointment with said that still doesn't mean I will get one. So why do I need an appointment then? To make sure I get there too late? LOL

Yeah its always nice when they say something and then you show them how they are wrong and it goes silent. I would be the same way if i was you if they arent taking preorders they cant take preorders for some just because they are new customers that is bullshit if you ask me

I just called my local store. Guy said they open normal hours & are unsure of how many phones they will have. If they don't have them I can get it over-nighted. It is so weird that they don't know how many phones they will have, with tomorrow being launch day.

but i said what the list was for if theres no pre orders? thats when they come up w/ bs(answers differ;-so u can get a phone tomorrw. -so we can call u and tell u if we have enough phones. -depending on what number ur on the list, thats ur ticket number) I used to do sales in computers, and something is definetly shady, whether its commision shadyness or corporate agenda(i.e, new costumers a priority)

It comes down to new costumers having priority. We'll end up getting the phone peeps.. just maybe not tomorrow..

Mostly this. I pay just over $200 a month for our account, and I am tired of getting the run around when I am trying to give them more of my money.
 
I called three VZW stores today. My gf needs to pick one up at the store

One said they would have maybe 10. Another said they didn't even know if they would have any. The third says he can't say but has at least one box which usually is 10. All 3 said first come first serve and all recommended I order it online through them. I just don't undestand why it's so hard to get them to tell us a number that they have received.

My gf and I are planning on going to the one by her place at 7:30 (they open at 8) and we will see how many people are waiting (it's a small town so I really don't think many...guess we will see!). If not, there's another one 5 minutes up the road we will try and hit

It won't surprise me to find out the sales staff is doing this on their own because the make more on new customer.
 
Here's my situation. I went to one of the big Verizon stores. They are going to have 40 in tomorrow but have already been claimed. They are opening at 8am tomorrow. I made an appointment for tomorrow at 8:30am just in case. They said they may get more tomorrow or Friday.. they aren't sure. I was like "ok" and left.
I went to another big Verizon store. They don't know how many they are getting in tomorrow. They are opening at 8am and doing a first come, first serve deal. I'm going to get there early and see what they got at the store. I can always cancel my other appt.
I do have one of the smaller Verizon retail stores close to me but I don't know if they are opening early or not. I talked to them yesterday and they have no clue what are they getting.
 
I am now officially boycotting my Local Verizon Store here in Champaign Illinois. Earlier this week I went in to confirm again they they would not be taking preorders at all. Which they stated they would not even after talking to the manager. Today I went in to ask how many phones they got in and if they opened early. Yes they would be opening 1 hour early...but all 30 devices they got in were already spoken for. I explained to her my discussion I had with the manager earlier in the week and even talked to the manager that day. He offered to order me a phone tomorrow so I could get it Friday. I told him it'd be a cold day in hell before that happens. These people drive me nuts sometimes.

The only store I could get to even verify an actual number was the Crystal Lake store. LITH and FRG both said they weren't sure. The guy at CL just laughed a little bit without giving much help...but did tell me "I have at least one box and typically there's 10 in there"....I don't understand WHY it's so hard for them to simply tell us how many they actually have.

I really can't imagine a ton of people in our area pounding down the doors for this but who knows I guess?

They will have 55 units, and they claim to not have a list or appointments. They open an hour earlier--9am-- and I plan on getting there at 7. Hope this works!

Nice! Hoffman is probably a good place to try. I'll be at Crystal Lake @ 7:30.....if my gf does get one, I can't get mine from BB til 10....so she will definitely enjoy rubbing it in my face. If she can't get one....oh she will be p*$$ed lol Good luck!!

Same thing my store said. We have 45 no preoders blah blah blah. Was in line at 7:30 and when the guy came out he says "we have 16 left" ???? How do you sell them before you open if you didn't take preorders. They also had a list of appointments that they were holding phones for even though the day before they told me that an appointment doesn't mean they will hold a phone for you.

At lest I got number 3 of the ones not sold. I would have ripped someone A55 of they were all gone.

We should all write corporate and let them know what we how we got 10,000 different stories from customer Service and the stores reps.

Totally unacceptable!!

I called a Verizon corp store last Friday and was told 5 had just arrived and to come right down. After I drove all the way down there the store manager told me he had just marked all 5 as pre-sold and all he could do is order me one. A-holes. The other nearby corp store at least claims they don't have pre-orders and when their drop ships arrive they are first come first served. No idea if that is true in practice?
