Are you using Windows?

What you can do is use the android sdk to issue fastboot commands to the phone in order to restore download mode. At that time, you can use LG Flash Tools and the vs980 tot/bin files to reflash the stock firmware.

If you are in fact on Windows, you can use Koush's Universal Driver in order to use adb/fastboot.

If you don't already have the sdk set up on your machine, you can use our forum's Mini SDK instead as it's far easier and faster to set up.

Then to test for a positive connection to the phone, open the command prompt, change directory to the sdk-tools folder and enter the following command:

fastboot devices

If it shows the phone's s/n, you're good to proceed.

Download the laf and aboot partitions from HERE. (thanks to Autoprime)

Rename them to aboot.img and laf.img and place them into the sdk-tools folder.

Then flash those two partitions to the phone to restore download mode using these two commands:

fastboot flash aboot aboot.img
fastboot flash laf laf.img

Exit command prompt and press and hold power on the phone until it shuts off. Then press and hold volume up while at the same time plugging the phone into the USB cable in the PC. If you get download mode, you're good to use LG Flash Tools to reflash the stock firmware.

I have all the programs only thing that I'm having issues with its that my laptop is not recognizing my phone

Ok, did you install the universal driver I linked above? What you want to do is go to Windows device manager and watch it while plugging in the phone. See if a device shows up at this time even if it's an unrecognized device. If the driver installs properly, it should show up as "adb interface" or similar.

Then to test for a positive connection to the phone, open the command prompt, change directory to the sdk-tools folder and enter the following command:

fastboot devices

So you need to change directory (cd) to the sdk-tools folder and THEN issue the fastboot devices command. So for example, if you had placed the sdk-tools folder onto the root of the C drive, then you would type:

cd c:\sdk-tools

then...

fastboot devices

You may have placed it elsewhere so adjust the path as necessary.

I am currently at work and I don't have the software to remote into your machine. I see you have downloaded a bundle which evidently includes the tools to use adb/fastboot. That's fine but honestly, it'll take no time at all to download our mini sdk I linked earlier. That way we know exactly what's in there and I can better help you.

So if you follow these exact steps, it should work:

1.) Download our mini sdk from THIS thread. The download link is toward the bottom of the post.

2.) Once downloaded, unzip it. You should now have a regular folder called sdk-tools with a bunch of stuff in it.

3.) Move that folder to the root of your C drive.

4.) Open your command prompt and type the following commands:

cd c:\sdk-tools

then...

fastboot devices

5.) Paste the output. That should have you ready to go.

One other thing, I'm assuming you were rooted with a custom recovery prior to all this. If so, have you tried to get into recovery mode? If not, give that a shot. Here's a vid that shows how to access recovery using the phone's external keys:

LG G2 Recovery and download mode - YouTube

Doing that MAY bring you back to fastboot mode instead. That's fine if that happens, I just want to know what we have to work with.
