[Verizon] Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2 Factory Images Now Available

true story. ...

when will the debate start on how many more "OFFICIAL" updates the VZW Gnex will see?

This makes at least 2 major updates imo. I say ....it might have one more left.

Would be my guess also. And not a huge number of people will be running the device by then would be my other guess.

Maybe one more, maybe.

That said, the hardware on the GN is actually holding up pretty well compared to the "new" phones currently out.

I think the will change towards the end of the year though :/

My issue is I'm locked into VZW for work reasons, and I don't expect to see another VZW "Nexus" phone :(

One Verizon launches VoLTE, all Google has to do is release an unlocked device that can do that compatible with Verizon's frequencies and you'll have your next Verizon nexus. It would even be carrier unlocked so no more slow Verizon updates.

If Verizon stops updating the GNex, does that mean Google will stop including it in AOSP development? I.e. will subsequent AOSP releases not be specifically made compatible with the VZW GNex? Of course, there is the question of updated proprietary binaries and radios too...

Of course, the life of custom ROMS will go on much longer than any of that probably...
