Help Verizon visual voicemail

Guys

Does anybody use Verizon visual voicemail out here? It doesn't work very well, sometimes the service crashes and sometimes it shows me a new voicemail after a few hours

Never used Verizon's visual voicemail service, didnt feel like paying for it...

have you tried Google Voice? You can set it up so that it only gets used for voicemail, like i do.

It allows you to select specific messages to playback, and even attempts (amusingly) to translate them into text form.

Give that a shot, I've never had any issues with connectivity or late voicemail's (as far as i know)

I refuse to pay $3/month for Verizon' Visual Voicemail.

Doesn't Google voice require you to get a new phone number? If that's true, I'm not interested.

I don't get many voicemails anyway because 9 times out of 10 I answer my phone.
