version remains at 4.1.2 after Android 4.3 update

I have been expecting an update to Android 4.3 for my Galaxy S3. An update was pushed to the phone his morning, but the version still reads 4.1.2. Why is that?

In order to answer that question better, we need more info.

1. What country are you in?
2. What carrier are you with?

Also, if it was pushed this morning and you saw the pop up for it, maybe you hit decline or didn't accept it properly. Try going to Settings>System Update>Update Samsung Software>Check now

System Update claims that the system is up to date. The update looked okay to me while it was taking place earlier. The progress bar indicated it was updating and the phone automatically rebooted.

I am in the U.S. and my carrier is Sprint.

The 4.3 update HASNT been launched for the s3.
The update you got would just have been a simple maintainance update to 4.1.2.
People (like myself) who are running 4.3 have either flashed the unofficial (aparently really bad) 4.3 test leak for the INTERNATIONAL s3 or are running a custom rom.
The normal, un-geeky of us will have to wait on samsung and the carriers having their way with it then pushing it out :beer:

IT was supposed to start rolling out yesterday. Several Sprint S3 owners have reported getting the update.

SOunds to me like its in full swing.

Android 4.3 has been released by Samsung officially (I9300). They also released the kernel sources for 4.3, which basically confirms it was an official launch.

As for the OP, you probably got a minor 4.1.2 update today (yesterday), not the 4.3 one you were expecting.

According to sammobile 4.1.2 is the latest for you. As stated it was probably just another 4.1.2 update, from what it looks like the US carriers are the very last to get any updates.
