[ashmaini]

Hi,

I want to upgrade my Samsung captivate android version from 2.1 update1 to version 2.2
Could you please help and guide me with the steps to do the same?

Thanks.

There is no official release for 2.2 yet for the captivate unless you live in canada and are on the rogers network. However you can always install a custom rom that is 2.2 (unofficial) and you can get them from xda-developers.com

You should be more specific about your answer. You must own a model I-896 in order to get the update from the rogers network. Having a I-897 unlocked on the rogers network wont cut it =(
