Help Very Dark Screen

My galaxy is very dark, at the right angle i can make out stuff on the page but not very good, enough to shut it down. Just wondering if i need to replace the lcd or something like that.

Exactly like that. But first check (or have someone check) whether a cable is unplugged or a wire is broken. (It's actually the LEDs that light the LCD that are out.)

Plus also it doesn't seem to power on unless plugged into my pc, after having it charge alnight.

Sounds lime battery issue, but you have double checked brightness options put it in manual and on brightest? That would also check tbe sensor..
