Help Very low headphone volume?

I know! everyone's ears have been damaged as a result of using these lame ear buds that all the carriers throw at you...! you don't need to turn the volume up... get some good headphones....not beatsbydre not these samsung or skull whatevers.... look at the true output and distortion levels of modern headphones... do research on compression and eq , etc. sometimes big bass levels are not the answer...
no filters will help...

I'm really hoping this is a joke. It's definitely something to do with the Note 3 and not my headphones or car as they all worked fine on previous phones.

In Europe, the blame goes to European Union, and their volume restriction to 85dB for all portable music players which started sometime around March I think.

Apologies if this has been covered.

But, if you turn up your 'Media' volume in settings, it inturn makes the volume louder when listening to music on your headphones.

My volume is fine and loud, have it sitting at about 9 or 10. Any higher is too loud.

I'm curious if anyone is having this issue and I'm not seeing from the search function but when I'm listen to music from my files on the device and I move the slider to a different part of a song the volume lowers. I have to lock the device then unlock to bring it back to a higher volume. Anyone else having this issue? Doesn't have any problems with Pandora or YouTube. Just with Music on the device and podcast. It's to the point where I can't really hear the podcast sometimes. Thanks.

If your volume is set really high, like when the device gives the warning about higher levels, I have noticed that sometimes it will reset it back before this warning level when i change apps.

Thanks for the response. I understand what your saying but this is not the case. I'm staying in the default music app and just moving to a different point in the song and it lowers the volume. It won't return to normal volume until I lock then unlock the phone. Curious why I am experiencing it and not seeing anyone else on here having the same issue.

I also noticed the volume is low for 75% of the volume bar. The last 25% the volume jumps up big time with each click. Wish it was more even. Using 3.5 audio cable.

Also that warning message about the volume reminds me of my droid razr except on that phone it never gave a warning, it just turned the volume down and you couldn't do anything about it. On the razr you could stop one of the apps so the warning never came up. What's the app to stop on the Note 3?

when you see the warning press the vol. up button and click "ok" you will never see that warning again.

Yes, and then once you go as loud as you can, its still not very loud.

I also run regularly on gym threadmill, and the standard volume was not loud enough, but when I adjusted after the warning, it is now loud enough. In fact, loud enough to cancel the blaring electronic music from all the gym speakers.
And even then, I am still scared of going deaf in my old age.
