very odd notification problem

first off hello. i'm new to the android system, but i figured a lot out by lurking here for a few days. finally decided to register since there is A LOT of info here

i set a new notification tone and it works great. at random times it lowers the volume to the i assume default level. i have to go in the settings and turn it back up. anyone else run into this problem yet?

Hey, Congrats on your phone! I actually haven't had this problem, but I DID have it for my G1. I know this may sound dumb, but what I did was turn up the notification, hit menu, then go back and check really quick. If it is still up, reboot your phone (hold the power and volume after you shut it off and choose reboot) And ever since, my G1 would have it basically as default. idk if this works for this, but I hope it does!
