The WiFi range on my HTC Wildfire S is very poor. It keeps disconnecting when more than 5 metres away from the router. Is there any way of getting a better range?
Not sure what you mean. I don't know how to do that.Try assigning yourself a static IP, that might help.
I have found that it stays connected if I uncheck "Mobile network" in the wireless & networks settings. The signal is still not that good and keeps going up and down.

The Mobile network thing was going to be my next suggestion.
There appears to be an inherent bug in all HTC's variants of Gingerbread with the WiFi, it cuts out when the signal gets below a certain strength (which is too low). Assigning yourself a static IP or turning off Mobile Network whilst connected sorts.
I can give you instructions on the static IP thing if you like.
El Presidente,
As you say above, please tell me how to config static IP on the wildfire s?
There is a good app in the Market called Wifi Analyser which can show you signal strength and if you are using the same channel as say a neighbour. Very useful.
