Help very wet dhd

For my sins I dropped my hd and it became submerged in water. I dried it and took the battery out and left it for a good 48 hours. It seems to work as I can recieve texts/emails but no screen or lights what so ever. Any ideas as to what I could do or am I better putting it in the bin :-(

Where did you leave it for 48 hours? Best left in a box of rice/warm cupboard or preferably both.

I'll admit it doesn't sound healthy, but you could try drying it a little longer. If it still does the same, your best bet is insurance if you've got it, sorry.

El Presidente stole the words right off my screen... sorry to say, but your only option may be to try and claim on insurance if it covers water damage!

The only additional thing you could try is to ensure you have all compartments open and empty (battery etc) and prop it in the path of a warm hairdryer for few hours... at least a foot from the hairdryer though to ensure you are drying and not over heating.

My sis dropped her Galaxy S in the sink (toddler was handing it back to her) and it took nearly a week to dry out completely but 6 months later is still working perfectly.

But whatever you do, don't try to put your phone in the oven to dry it out! (Someone I know did this, not a wise idea!) :p

Once it didn't work using the oven (surprise surprise) they then put it in the microwave....until it starting sparking and looking like it was about to explode

Ah no! You're not serious??? Are they safe to be let out alone?
