Verizon Car Dock does NOT have the 3 pins to charge the Nexus

The part number for the Samsung version that has the 3 pins is:

ECS-K1F2BEGSTD

ECS-K1F8BEGSTA

The samsung version can be ordered here:

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/genuine-samsung-galaxy-nexus-vehicle-dock-ecs-k1f2begstd-p33499.htm

or Pre-Ordered here:
http://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung-google-galaxy-nexus-vehicle-mount-225505/

Feel free to continue talking about it, mainly if you found the Samsung Version in stock and how much. Etc....

MFG Part Number is ECS-K1F8BEGSTA

Everywhere online is out of stock....

I really want to go through Verizon though as I have 25% off accessories.

It could be that VZW stores won't have any stock until the GN is officially announced.

my local verizon store had everything but docks. I bought a 3 pack of screen protectors from them. just remember the lte version is slightly thicker so that dock might not work

I've decided that buying unique docks for each phone/device in my life is crazy and have switched over to the Tetrax XWAY

Tetrax - XWAY, EGO, GEO, FIX, FIXWAY, XCASE - XWAY line

I know it's not what you asked for but it's a great product so I just thought I'd throw it out there!

I agree with BV about the Tetrax mounts. I've used three different versions and they have all worked great. I bought a cheap case for the GN and will put a magnet on the back so I can keep using my current XWAY. If you will be using a case this is a great option.

With that being said, once there are a few different mount options specifically for the GN I will buy one. I plan on keeping this phone naked most of the time and I don't want to be sticking anything to the back. Hopefully I will only need to use the case for a couple weeks. As soon as somebody makes a mount specifically for the Nexus that does NOT attach to the window I will consider it. Hard to tell from the available info but I think this standard mount only has an option for attaching to the window.

Which is why i wanna buy from Verizon.. just called telesales. He looked and said it was on equipment list but couldn't find any. I believe him because he was like let me try this I wanna find out for personal reasons if we have any too.

No go. I thought some people had luck with telesales with ordering spare batteries and cases.

this pic from Droid-Life had me hopeful that Verizon was going to stock it:

SAMI515MNT could be something else worth asking reps... if this image came from somewhere Vzw-official. I dunno.

I don't even drive everyday, but I am lusting that car mount almost as much as the phone itself... I plan to use the usb port very little.

I do like that official navigation mount, but after viewing the Tetrax I think I may go that route since it's more universal.

On the newer Motorola docks, they give you a USB cable that also has an AUX port built in. Verizon SKU for the cable is MICAUXCAB. I'm assuming this will work with this phone since its just a cable, but this would be perfect with the Tetrax.

I bought the VZW Nexus car dock from a Corporate store last night. They didn't seem to have any problem selling me the accessories early. So I bought them all. The car dock is amazing. My GSM Nexus fits snug and perfect (I wonder how the slightly bigger LTE model is going to fit...). It really is nice and functional. I don't see any Samsung model utilizing the three prongs, though. Mine is the one pictued above from Verizon, and appears to be the exact same one as the one on the Samsung website. If it's not, then I'll return it and get the three-prong car dock since they are identical in style?

Is it not the same dock as this?
Genuine Samsung Galaxy Nexus Vehicle Dock - ECS-K1F2BEGSTD

because that one clearly uses the three prongs... he even talks about it in the video... and not a USB connection. I don't really want a dock that uses the usb connection. I broke my OG Droid's usb port from too much plugging and weird angled pressure and whatever.

Could you take some pictures of it?

Darn. They are different. They look almost exactly identical except the usb port. Guess I will be returning it tomorrow and waiting for the official Samsung one to be released whenever if ever.

Just makes me hate VZW more, and glad I stuck with AT&T.

Could not agree more. I am a little worried at about the "material" on the back of phone and disk sticking to it.

I have done a few videos on this and it is the best mobile product I have bought.

This makes me angry, guess I'll see it for myself at the store tomorrow, but I am not amused... Why would they make an inferior version? Is it not an official Samsung version?

DOH... I posted this as a new thread before I realized there was already a thread for it (sorry for not searching first). Re-posting here because it's relevant...
-----------------

I just saw in this video that Verizon's version of the Vehicle Nav Mount for the Nexus DOES NOT have the 3-pin connection that I assumed it would...

I was all set to purchase this mount during tomorrow's release, until I saw that the 3-pin connector wasn't there.

The "GSM version" of the mount apparently DOES have the 3-pin connector capability, as shown in the video here:

I ABSOLUTELY want the 3-pin connector capability so that I won't have to plug in cables everytime I dock my Nexus. Not having that capability is a deal breaker for me.

Can anyone confirm that the GSM version of the dock is fully compatible with Verizon's LTE Nexus (including charging, audio, and of course that it fits)? Also, what do you think is the best place to buy the 3-pin version of the dock if you're in the US?
