I was trying the small disk under my battery cover since it allowed NFC to work, but like I said, it didn't hold tight enough. So I went back to using the larger plates in between my case and phone, but then another problem popped up.
I cannot use it that way with the charging cable attached. I like the phone in landscape mode, but the weight of the cable puts it at an angle. I was going to try again with a larger plate on the outside of the case directly on the magnet, but I drive a Jeep. I doubt even that would hold it in a steady landscape position while on dirt roads.
So, I am going to return the mount. Too bad, as It looked so much better.
