Some folks may be unaware that Verizon gives vets a 15% discount on the primary voice line and a 12% discount on the data plan that's on that same line.

You need to show your DD-214 or retirement papers to get the discount.

Also, many people may not know that they may be able to get a discount through their employer or school. You usually just need a work/school email address. I'm currently getting 17% off though my university, and I'll get 20% off through my employer after I graduate in June.
