Help Vibrant Died

Newbie
After about 5 months, my Vibrant wouldn't turn on anymore with the battery. It started having some charging/on-off issues a few days ago and finally went belly up.
When I plugged it into my computer, it started right up and showed it had a full battery and was charging. When I pulled the cable..it still showed it was charging!
I pulled the battery, re-installed and it started fine on the cable again.
But with it unplugged, it just gave a 5 second try at starting up..showing a rotating wheel...and stayed black.
Tmobile suggested a wipe-restart using power/volume up/volume down buttons but that wouldn't trigger anything with it plugged it except restarting and never giving me an option to restore the factory settings and wipe everything else.
I've got a replacement inbound under warranty since it's still in its' year period.

I'm bummed and hoping the replacement lasts longer.

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Just got the replacement from TM.
Sim Chip and SD Card swap went fine.
How do I re-download my Market Purchases?
My wife forgot her Google LogIn and their customer support website is of no help.

TMO ended up refunding my purchases, so it didn't cost me anything, which is Great for TMO!
I have not reinstalled anything yet because the battery life with the new phone and the old battery is GREAT.
Don't know if all the extra apps drained it, despite task killer. But with just the installed apps, it's lasting for a few days. NOT checking mail, temp or GPS. Not even sure of WiFi is running or net.
Wife says "Leave it alone".
I obey.
