Help vibrate alerts

[OMGHAXCODE]

I am new to Android and I'm just curious how I make my Droid X vibrate when I get texts. When I put it in vibrate mode it just vibrates on calls but not texts. Do I need an app for this?

I now am using handcent, check it out, but just go into the stock texting app, click the menu button, find notifications, turn on vibrate and turn off the sound if you want.
