Help vibrate and silent modes

On my HTC Hero, I was able to use the volume button on the side to go from ringer, to silent, to vibrate. But with the s2 I can only go from vibrate to ringer, or silent to ringer, and have to go into sound options to change it.

Is anybody else having this issue?

Is there a way of getting around this?
Or an app may be?

Does 2.3 firmware not have the widget thing so that when you pull down 'notifications' you have the buttons for wifi, sound, brightness, bluetooth, and all customizable ... ?

Press and hold on homescreen, choose Shortcuts, scross down to and press settings, then scroll down and choose sounds.

Dunno if its 2.3 but it is present on SgS2

I'd hope so, Teknik, I have it on my spica on 2.2, but I want sure if it was a 2.2 mod, or a cynogen firmware mod.
