Help vibrate mode and sms

is there anyway to get the stock text app to automatically go to vibrate when i set the phone to vib? gtalk has an option for this, but it seems like text doesnt for some reason.

Do you have an external like SMS Popup or similar controlling SMS alerts?

There's also an option in the volume/sound menu to link the notification volume to the ringer volume, are they linked? If not, regardless of what volume the ringer is set to, SMS Alerts will always play.

no im using the stock app that comes with the DHD, i just tried to link the notification volume to the ringtone volume and it doesnt add the vib to notifications like it would a phone call, any other suggestions plz!!! (also even when they arent set to linked and i throw the phone on vibrate only, the notifications still go silent.)

Open the messaging app, then menu -> settings, there are further notification settings in there.
