go mess with the settings in home-->settings-->sound-->vibrate. options include always, never, only when silent, and anything but silent (I believe). I kind of wish they left this alone... I liked how it was
my phone, and i think my wife's also, never vibrated with text messages since VZB update. and it still doesn't. and i do think the android programmers were ill advised to play with the vibrate settings... seems completely irrational.

Open messaging application press the list button (the one with lines), chose settings, and at the bottom is the option for it to vibrate with new text message or not.
