Root vibrate stopped working

Suddenly, my phone will not go to "vibrate" mode. When I use volume down, it no longer vibrates at the lowest level.

Phone rooted.

Any thoughts?

SO the phone will go into vibrate mode but not actually vibrate?

Correct. Goes to vibrate mode, but does not vibrate. Noticed it this morning when tried to place in "vibrate mode".

So yea I have the same problem. Doesn't work at all. It doesn't even vibrate when I turn it on like it used to on the white HTC screen.
Any solutions out there??

Have you tried to boot to recovery and wipe just the cache partition and the dalvik cache?

Try that then see if it works again. If not try and flash the latest stock rooted rom found here:
ss_stock_4.67.651.zip

If it still doesn't work, I'm sorry but you probably have a hardware failure.

Wiping didn't work, in downloading the file and I'll flash it as soon as its done and hope that fixes it

Grrr, I was hoping a cache and dalvik wipe would fix it. Try the stock rom, might get lucky.

The vibration is one of the most common hardware failures, along with the usb port.

hi....to find out if its a hardware or software problem i would try a hard reboot...cause when u c the white HTC screen it always vibrates...so if it does then its software and check ur settings.......if it doesnt then u know its hardware.....just what i would do

Yea I noticed it didn't vibrate when it rebooted. So I guess it is hardware problem

I just got a call and now it works ????
I flashed different roms, downloaded apps and a simple call fixed it
I rarely get calls all I do is text so this is awesome!!! I do notice the haptic feedback on the bottom keys is weak but the keyboard vibrates normal and text do too

hi.....its like a computer it goes through a series of self diagnostic tests booting up ..glad its working for u

I just got a call and now it works ????
I flashed different roms, downloaded apps and a simple call fixed it
I rarely get calls all I do is text so this is awesome!!! I do notice the haptic feedback on the bottom keys is weak but the keyboard vibrates normal and text do too

I'm curious why it wasn't working before? Keep an eye on it, just to be sure.

Then one morning I was holding it with the screen off, and it did it. No text, not emails, nothing. It's done it to me a few more times while holding it, different roms, different kernels, just a quirk with my wip.

I read somewhere the vibrate motor could be stuck and said to throw it agsinst a pillow which I did and I'm guessing me throwing it followed by the call forced it to vibrate hard enough to "un-jam" itself. It works perfectly now. I never had problems with it before so I was kinda scared especially since I'm flashed to metro with no insurance lol

hi...i must say thats a new one...an evo pillow fight lol..and evo wins ..thanks thats good to know for future vib problems.
