Vibration

Drognar

Newbie
I just got a droid Eris, I love it. One thing I cant stand about it is the freaking vibrate that happens whenever I hit a button, please, is there way to turn this off?

To turn it off when typing: Settings>Language & Keyboard>Touch Input>Text Input>and uncheck Vibrate When Typing

To turn it off for softkeys (Home, menu, back, and search) Settings>Sound & Display>and uncheck Haptic Feedback.

Hope that helps.

Edit: DIdn't type fast enough, lol

I'm still getting a vibrate on notifications and when drag something. Also, I keep dragging this app to delete it into the trash bin but nothing ever happens.

You can't delete the apps that come on the phone, only ones you installed in the market. To delete those, open the market, hit menu, go to downloads. Delete from there.

I wasn't trying to, I downloaded some CRAP pacman app and I didnt know how to get rid of it. So, my last question is does the phone need to vibrate for nofications and apps, or can I turn that off too? Ideally, I'd like to have a completely silent phone(like an iphone) with rings of course

You've disabled the haptic feedback, but it seems the other system vibrations; such as the vibrate on long-press on shortcuts to delete cannot be disabled. At least I have not seen that setting. It may be along the lines of the vibrate when a call is being connected.

Thanks anyway, its just annoying and I'm sure its highly unnecessary

You can turn off vibrate for notifications, like email, texts. Just open the program like email, press menu----> settings----> and uncheck vibrate.
