Victory as S2 Replacement

I told VM my s2 was faulty and that I needed a replacement. After months of waiting for an s2, they told me they aren't in stock anymore and sent me this phone. I like it, but it's not as high end as my s2. Also, VM LTE isn't that fast here in west Texas compared to wimax.

It's actually a better phone than the S2 in many ways, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so meh.

As for wimax vs lte, there is no comparison in an area with 4GLTE coverage. LTE is more than 4 times as fast as wimax, so your situation is probably due to the towers near you not being updated to LTE yet. Try updating your PRL and Profile in settings, that should help your phone find the proper towers to connect to, and the right method.

Jerry is right.

If you're in the USA, a Victory with Jerry's kernel and ROM benches about the same as an S3. (Non-US S3s are quad core)

Only thing an S2 has over the Victory is screen size.
