Video and audio streaming issues

I've had my Desire for almost a month, and have been disappointed with its ability to cope with audio and video streaming. It is so bad I can't stream internet radio over my home wifi, it keeps stopping and starting, although I was able to stream very effectively with my previous phone, a Nokia. Watching videos on you tube is similarly problematic.

I've read somewhere that there is a problem with Froyo and some N type routers. Has anyone else had problems, and are there any fixes?
