Help Video Calling on Skype

I searched for a recent answer to this question but came up empty and was hoping someone here could help. Is there a way to use video calling through Skype on the Evo V? I have enabled video calling in the settings but when i use it i can see and here the other person and see myself with the font camera but all they get on there end is a black screen with a white turning circle. I also have an Asus tablet with the same issue. I have the latest version of Skype downloaded. Has anyone else been able to fix this issue or is Skype a no go on this device too?

I use skype for video calling on my phone all the time. At least several times a week. It's worked for me on stock rom and every one of the 7 or so ROMs I've flashed in the past. It does work, I'm not entirely sure what your issue is. Have you tried calling someone else to see if the issue is with the person you are calling?
 
Unfortunately i dont know anyone else with skype to try this with. :) I was also thinking that the issue might be with the person on the other end as well. I'll have to see if i can find more Skype friends but it is good to know that it does work. Thanks!

Since you have an asus, why not just create another id. Login into your original skype id with Evo and the new id with Asus. Try to video conference each other and see what happens.

Please share the results with us. I've tried the above with my Evo V and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, and they work well. However, I haven't tried video calling other folks. The voice calls are great though.
 
I was acutally just thinking about this. Thats a good idea. I'll give it a try as soon i get to my tablet.

I don't use google talk that much (everyone I care about is on skype) so I don't have much to go on, but the little I've used it, it seems to work just fine. Skype works fine for me too though so it's a toss up for me. Try 'em both and see which one works better for your current ROM and setup.
