Help Video calling

Any one make video calls on there 3evos? I use to use fring, but now its telling me I gotta pay to play. Plus the vid quality was pretty horrible. Is there a free video app with descent vid quality? Im use to facetime on my iPhone.
 
i just tried a call between my 3vo and ip4 and it said i need to buy credits....So I have to pay to use this?
 
Don't make phone calls, connect thru your Skype id to another's Skype id - then, it's free.

Same principle as using Facetime to call between iP4 and Mac computer.
 
Funny part when I used Quik they would say they see me upside down, lol yet when I would look at the the screen it showed me correct so go figure

It's happened to me too, but after messing with the camera icon a few times it toggled between all the cameras and now defaults on the front facing camera. Took me all of 2 seconds to get it worked out right. At the very least it's something to try.
 
I tried tango, didnt work for me. I couldnt activate it. I tried skype between my 3vo ip4 and laptop. The video wouldnt work. I have a fast wifi connection at home. I dont know why it wouldnt allow video calls.
 
Are you using the Skype from our FAQ, not the Market version?

And if you did it yourself, did you put the laptop on wifi and the 3vo on 3G?

Your home router may not deal well with multiple video chat streams.

Set Skype to low video as I recommended.

See my 3vo / laptop results in the Skype thread - all good.
 
not a big deal. I will just use a different service. But im sure other iphone users are having the same problem with activation.
 
Skype from market does not support video for us.

You must have the version linked in the forum FAQ.

Uninstall Market version first!!!

I posted the link in post 2 of this thread that covered that. If you used the Market version, you've obviously not read the thread I have referenced repeatedly.
 
I installed the skype mentioned in post #2. A few hours later at work the phone got really hot and battery went went down to 42% very fast.Am I suppose to sign out of skype and close it ? or let it do whatever in the background? It was not on a call when it did this. Thx
 
So this installs fine on an EVO 4G, and I have the video call feature, but the FFC doesn't work. It's just a bunch of green "snow". if I select rear cam, it works just fine. What gives? Yes, I am aware this is the 3D forum, just wondering if people have had any success.

Didn't Skype buy Qik? If I remember correctly, they did. And if they did, it has to be only a matter of time before you can call Skype friends using Qik.

I know that doesn't help you right now though, unfortunately.
